Explore all the game modes in Solo Leveling: ARISE! From Story Mode and Gates to the challenging Battlefield of Trials and more, find out how to tackle each mode and get the best rewards.

This guide covers the various game modes available in Solo Leveling: ARISE. Each mode offers unique challenges and rewards, so let's dive in!

Here's a quick rundown of what you'll find:
  • Story Mode
  • Hunter Archive
  • Gates
  • Unstable Dungeons
  • Battlefield of Trials
  • Battlefield of Time
  • Power of Destruction
  • Battlefield of Chaos
  • Workshop of Brilliant Light
  • Simulation Gate
  • Guild Game Mode (Guild Boss, Mini Games)
  • Edge of Illusion and Dreams

Story Mode

Inspired by the webtoon, Story Mode features Main Chapters for progression and Side Chapters for optional stories and rewards like Custom Draw Tickets. You'll need to level up Sung Jinwoo and your Hunters to advance. Completing Chapters 7-10 on Normal unlocks Hard Mode. After Chapter 15, Reverse Mode becomes available, restricting you to support Hunters.

Hunter Archive

This mode lets you explore hunter lore. You'll need Hunter Archive Keys (3 replenish daily for free) to unlock Character Stories. Completing chapters rewards 50 Essence Stones. Once all stories are done, the Secret Library unlocks, offering rewards like costumes.

Gates

Gates are key for farming Mana Crystals, used for upgrades and other game modes. Clear the Boss Stage "To Overcome" in Story Chapter 2 and complete Sung Jinwoo's Assassin Job Change quest to unlock. There are five Gate Types:
  • Normal Gates: Standard dungeons, playable in Player or Hunter Mode.
  • Dungeon Breaks: Found during Difficulty 5+ scans, Player Mode only.
  • Bonus Gates: Randomly spawned.
  • Special Gates: Unique objectives (e.g., destroy chests, defend goblins) that give more gold.
  • Red Gates: Unlocked after Chapter 7, harder Hard Mode dungeons with better rewards.
Red Gates spawn randomly or after rescanning. Rescanning is free every 5 minutes, or you can pay 500 Gold for an instant refresh. You need Gate Keys to enter (1 key per attempt, 10 replenish daily). You can buy more keys with Essence Stones (150 Stones for 3 keys, up to 10 times daily).

Gate rewards include Weapon Enhancement Gear, Artifact Enhancement Chips, Armor Artifacts, Melding Cubes, Essence Stones, Reputation, XP, and Gold. Clearing Gates also contributes to daily XP bonuses and various Missions. Scanning for Gates lets you choose a Difficulty Level, affecting rewards and challenges. Gates have team restrictions (Player or Hunter Mode).

After clearing a Gate, you can send a mining team for 24 hours. Initially, you can deploy up to 3 mining teams, with more available for 2,000 Essence Stones each. Mining teams level up to provide faster mining and better rewards.
