Learn how to dominate Tokyo Megaplex in SSX Tricky! This guide breaks down the course, from boost tricks to avoiding fans and mastering the left-side strategy for maximum speed.

Alright, let's talk about Tokyo Megaplex. This course can be a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be flying. The biggest thing to remember for this whole race is: stay left. We'll get into why that's so important in a bit.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Right at the start, you'll want to perform a Knockdown to get a full boost immediately. As you go around the first curve, look for the jump at the bottom. Bust out an Uber trick off of this jump. If you're struggling to get enough air, there's a speedboost located on the far left side that can give you a significant boost in airtime.
  2. 2
Continue down the path, and you'll encounter some fans. These are your worst enemies on this course; they'll blow you around and slow you down considerably. You'll want to go into the big blower tube. While you're floating upwards, try to pull off two Uber tricks.
  3. 3
Once you land in the chute up top, straighten yourself out so you're facing directly ahead. Then, boost and jump up towards the upper platform that has rails on it. You'll want to perform another Uber trick while you're in the air, though it'll be a tight window.
  4. 4
Jump back down from this platform, doing Uber tricks as you descend. If you can land two, awesome – you'll have your 'Tricky' meter filled! If you only manage one, don't sweat it. After you land, you'll be in a zigzagging valley with tackling dummies. You should be able to easily land that last Uber trick off the sides of the valley.
  5. 5
Now that your 'Tricky' meter should be full, head down to the bottom of this valley. You'll see a ramp and a hole you can jump into, with rails to the left and right. Ignore all of that for now. This is where the 'left' strategy really comes into play. Instead of going towards the ramp or rails, go forward and slightly to the left. Aim for the bank just before the course starts curving back towards the center. If you hit this bank at the right spot, you'll maintain most of your speed and avoid being pulled back onto the main course like you would if you tried to go straight up a hill.
  6. 6
For the remainder of the course, your main goal is to stay on the left side. You want to be on the snow, far enough left to avoid all the obstacles, but not so far that you end up on the metal track (which is slower) or have to lean against the hill to stay on the snow (which also slows you down). You shouldn't need much more guidance for this part; just keep your speed up and hug the left side.
  7. 7
All good things must come to an end... but Tokyo Megaplex is a bit of a loop. On your next lap, you'll want to do mostly the same things, with one key difference: how you get back down to the ground after the big fan. Just get back down and onto the left side as quickly as possible.
  8. 8
And that's pretty much it! Two main things to keep in mind for Tokyo Megaplex are: A) It's a circle that you travel counter-clockwise on. This is why sticking to the left is the fastest route – it's the shortest path around. B) Riding the rails isn't actually faster. While it feels like you're going super quick, you're also taking a much longer path.
Tips
  • Always aim to perform Uber tricks off jumps to fill your 'Tricky' meter quickly.
  • The fans are your biggest obstacle; try to avoid their direct path.
  • Mastering the left-side strategy is key to maintaining speed and avoiding slowdowns.
  • Don't be tempted by the rails; the shortest path is on the snow to the left.
