The Demon Compendium is an invaluable resource accessible through the World Map menu, allowing you to register, summon, and manage all the demons you've encountered and fused throughout your journey in Da'at. Accessing the Compendium

To access the Demon Compendium:

1. Open the World Map by pressing the designated button (typically 'X' on Switch).
2. Navigate to the "Compendium" option.
3. Select it to enter the Compendium interface.

You can also access the Compendium directly from any Leyline Fount, which is often more convenient for immediate summoning or registration after fusion.

Compendium Functions

Registering Demons

Every time you obtain a new demon, either through negotiation, fusion, or special events, it is automatically registered in the Compendium at its current level, stats, and learned skills. However, if you level up a demon or teach it new skills via Essences, its Compendium entry will become outdated. To ensure you have the most powerful version available for summoning:

• Manual Registration: Select a demon from your active party or stock in the Compendium interface. Choose the "Register" option. This will overwrite its previous entry with its current state.
• Cost: Registering a demon is free. Make it a habit to register demons after significant level-ups or skill changes, especially before fusing them away.

Summoning Demons

Summoning allows you to retrieve any registered demon from the Compendium, even if you previously fused it or released it. This is essential for:

• Rebuilding your party: If you need a specific demon for an upcoming boss or quest.
• Fusion fodder: Summoning specific demons to use in Miman Fusion or Special Fusion recipes.
• Experimentation: Trying out different party compositions without losing your original demons.

Summoning Costs: Summoning a demon costs Macca. The cost is determined by the demon's level, stats, and the number of skills it possesses. Higher-level demons with more powerful skills will naturally be more expensive. Early in the game, Macca can be tight, so prioritize summoning only what you truly need. Later, with efficient grinding strategies (refer to the "Definitive Grinding Guide" section), Macca becomes less of an issue.

Compendium Completion

Striving for 100% Compendium completion is a significant endgame goal. Not only does it provide a sense of accomplishment, but it also unlocks certain rewards and achievements. To achieve full completion, you must:

• Negotiate with every unique demon: Even if you don't keep them, simply recruiting a demon once registers it.
• Fuse all possible demons: Many powerful demons can only be obtained through fusion. Pay close attention to Special Fusion recipes.
• Defeat and recruit quest-specific demons: Some demons are encountered as bosses or through specific side quests before they become available for fusion or negotiation.

Advanced Compendium Strategies

Essence Transfer & Compendium

When you use an Essence to teach a demon new skills, remember to immediately register that demon in the Compendium. This ensures that if you ever need to summon that specific demon again, it will retain the skills you've invested in. This is particularly important for unique skill combinations or demons you've heavily customized.

Fusion Accidents & Compendium

While rare, Fusion Accidents can sometimes result in a demon you haven't encountered before. If this happens, the new demon will be automatically registered. If it's a particularly strong or rare demon, consider registering it at its current state before any further modifications.

Macca Management for Summoning

As mentioned, summoning can be expensive. Here are tips for managing Macca:

• Sell Relics: Regularly visit Gustave at the Cadaver's Hollow and sell any Relics you've found at Search Points. This is a primary source of Macca.
• Miman Hunting: Finding and returning Miman to Gustave also rewards Macca.
• Grinding: Engage in battles in areas like the Netherworld: Shinagawa or Netherworld: Chiyoda where demons drop valuable items or a good amount of Macca directly.
• Miracles: Invest in the "Divine Proficiency" Miracle early on to reduce summoning costs. This will save you a significant amount of Macca in the long run.
