Navigate the Guardian of Hel, Fenrir, in Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. Learn how to overcome darkness, solve Rune Doors, and find Lorestones in this detailed walkthrough.

After finishing the battles in the Sea of Corpses, you'll appear at the base of the Barnstokkr Tree once again. It's too late to pick up any Lorestones in the area. They're all inactive now.

Make your way back along the beach. Near the beginning of this area there was a door that leads into the mountain at the end of the remnants of a ruined bridge, up along the cliffs, near where you picked up the 2nd Lorestone in the area. You couldn't open it before, but now that you have Gramr, the door will open with no problems. There's a second door inside. When you open that door, the outer door will close behind you.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
As you enter the area, you'll find _Lorestone ᚢ 1/6_ directly ahead.
  2. 2
The path to the right of the Lorestone is a dead end. Take the stairs to the left. At the top, you'll have to hop down off of a fairly high ledge, meaning there's no going back.
  3. 3
Cross the bridge, then follow the path and it will take you to a large door. Open the door.
  4. 4
It's dark inside, and Senua is afraid of the dark. Throughout this area you'll be forced to find ways to avoid staying in the dark for long. If Senua stays in the dark for too long she will die. You can see a light up ahead. You'll have to go through the darkness to proceed. Run as quickly as you can through the darkness, making for the light up ahead. When you reach the light, stop to collect yourself and find your next destination. You can see a door with a light coming through it in the distance ahead. As you did before, sprint through the darkness toward the door. The door is locked, but there's a torch in a burning brazier next to the door, which Senua will take automatically. Now that you have a torch, you can move freely through the area without worrying about the darkness.
  5. 5
After a short cutscene you'll see that this door is a Rune Door. There's another fire pit to the right of the door that you can light if you interact with it. Lighting fire pits and torches is generally not necessary and serves no truly meaningful purpose, but can help you see better in some areas, and can help you keep track of where you've been.
  6. 6
This area can seem confusing at first, but it's actually not that complicated. You'll need to go to three places on the map. The hall on the right of the door closest to the rune door contains a spiral staircase. You'll need to go both up and down those spiral staircases. The other location is in the hall to the left of the door that can be accessed from the center of the map, where the light is shining through the ceiling. Don't forget to activate the Rune Door puzzle before you start exploring, or you'll end up having to retrace your steps to reach an objective again.
  7. 7
Start by going down the first hall on the right side of the Rune Door (right when looking at the door). You'll come to a large round room with a spiraling staircase running around the outer wall. Turn right and take the spiral stairs up. There's a hole in the wall at the top of the stairs. Go through the hole and follow the tunnel. Eventually you'll emerge into a small room. There's a torch that you can light in one corner. Once lit, the torch will cast a shadow on the round plaque at the back of the room that forms the ᚹ Rune.
  8. 8
After focusing on the Rune, turn left and follow the path, which will eventually turn to the right and bring you to a barred door, which you can open from this side. Unbar the door and go through. There's a locked door ahead of you blocking your access to get back to the central room in the area. There are 2 fire pits you can light next to the door if you're so inclined.
  9. 9
Turn right and follow the hall, which will turn left and bring you back to the central hall. Head back toward the Rune Door, then turn right and go back to the room with the spiral staircase from before. This time, turn left and take the stairs down to the lower level.
  10. 10
At the bottom of the stairs, there's a small tunnel half filled with water. Wade down into the water and make your way through the tunnel. About halfway through there's a grate blocking your progress. To go forward, Senua will have to duck underneath it, causing her torch to go out. Left in the dark with no torch once again, you'll need to run quickly to a spot ahead of you, where light is shining down from up above.
  11. 11
Stop in the light and get your bearings. When you're ready, run forward again to another ray of light that you can see up ahead. This time you'll get out of the water by the time you reach the light.
  12. 12
Stop and look around. The next with light is a little ways to the right. Run to it when you're ready.
  13. 13
Further to your right when you reach that light, you'll see two more lights up ahead. Prepare yourself, then run across the wood plank toward the next light. You don't have to walk across the plank. It's perfectly safe to walk in the puddle instead.
  14. 14
The final light is straight ahead, and there's a firepit burning nearby with a torch sticking out of it. Run to the last light and pick up the torch, so that you can once again walk around freely without having to worry about the areas of light and darkness.
  15. 15
There's a spiral staircase leading up. This will take you back up to the main floor of the maze. But you're not ready to return just yet. Turn around and go back the way you came, into the large cave area that you just came from. There are several torches you can light along your way to brighten things up and make it so you can see further. It's not necessary to light these torches, but it helps your visibility, so you may as well.
