Master late-game Apparition Hunting in Sekiro! Learn strategies for Headless and Shichimen Warriors, including essential tools like Malcontent's Ring and Phoenix's Lilac Umbrella.

Welcome to the Apparition Hunting section for Sekiro. This guide covers defeating Headless and Shichimen Warrior enemies that may have been skipped. These enemies primarily require Divine Confetti to defeat, and it's recommended to tackle them after reaching Fountainhead Palace and obtaining the Dragon Tally Board for purchasing Divine Confetti.

Helpful Preparations:

  • Grinding Spot: The Upper Antechamber in Ashina Castle is an excellent late-game spot for XP, sen (for Divine Confetti), and occasional Divine Confetti drops.
  • Malcontent's Ring: Obtain this Finger Whistle upgrade by defeating a Shichimen Warrior in the Hidden Forest (after the Double Ape boss fight). It causes Apparition enemies to recoil, allowing for multiple free hits (usable three times per fight). This is highly recommended and should be your first Apparition fight.
  • Phoenix's Lilac Umbrella: An upgrade for the umbrella that blocks apparition attacks, particularly useful against Shichimen Warriors.

Mini Boss: Shichimen Warrior (Abandoned Dungeon)

This is your second encounter with a Shichimen Warrior. This enemy inflicts Terror, which depletes your health rapidly when the gauge fills. Divine Confetti is required to deal significant damage.

Attacks:

  • Summons small balls of terror that roam the arena.
  • Shoots streams of small terror balls.
  • Launches larger terror balls that are difficult to dodge.
  • Gathers energy for a beam of terror energy; can be deflected, blocked with the Phoenix Umbrella, or outrun.
  • Staff swings when you are close.

Strategy:

  • Standard Approach: Get close and attack. The Shichimen Warrior will disappear and reappear at a distance, requiring you to re-engage.
  • Terror Management: Use Pacifying Agents to reduce Terror build-up.
  • Anti-Air Deathblow: Purchase this skill from Blackhat Badger (near Old Grave Idol). The Shichimen Warrior often jumps, allowing for an Anti-Air Deathblow that can take off half its health. This can be performed twice.
  • Tool Usage: Utilize the Malcontent's Ring for free hits and the Phoenix Umbrella to block attacks.

Mini Boss: Headless (Ashina Castle - Old Grave)

The next target is a Headless, located near the Ashina Castle - Old Grave Sculptor's Idol. This fight involves a specific gimmick.
