Alright, let's talk about Jubei Yagyu in Samurai Shodown (2019). He's a pretty straightforward samurai, all about that Bushi life and spreading his unique fighting style. Think of him as the disciplined, disciplined type who's really good with two swords. His whole deal is rigorous training and loyalty to his Shogun. He's from Tosa, Japan, he's 39, and he wields the Tokugawa Defender and the Iron Tiger Saber. You'll find him fighting in Kochi.

Throws

Jubei's got two main throws, and the cool thing is you can still do 'em even if you've somehow lost your swords. First up is the Shoulder Throw, which you do by pressing back or forward and either the Medium or Heavy Slash. This one's great because it gives you a good amount of time to follow up while your opponent is getting back up. Then there's the Pinwheel Throw, done with back or forward and either the Medium or Heavy Kick. He spins 'em around and tosses 'em. The Shoulder Throw is generally the better one for creating openings.

Special Moves

Jubei can't use any of his special moves if he's unarmed, so keep those swords handy! His first special is Nikkaku-Rato, also known as Tsunami Saber. You do this by pressing forward, down, and down-right, then any Slash button. He'll dash forward and stop if he hits the opponent or the edge of the screen. Be aware that if you use this from far away, especially the Light or Medium Slash version, it might only hit once, which really cuts down on the damage. Next, we have Katto-Suigetto, or Geyser Thrust. This one's a bit trickier to pull off sometimes – you gotta do the motion (down, down-right, right, then Slash), and you might need to pause for a split second before hitting the Slash button. It sends a wave across the ground. Lastly, there's Hasso-Happa, the Saber Thrash. Just mash the Heavy Slash button, and he'll do a rapid series of thrusts. This move is good because it knocks the opponent down on hit, but that also means it does less damage than you might think since they get knocked away so quickly.

Jubei's pretty solid if you like a disciplined fighter with good reach on some of his specials. Practice those special move inputs, especially the Geyser Thrust, and you'll be sending opponents flying in no time!
