Technical Machines (TMs) and Technical Records (TRs) are invaluable resources for teaching your Pokémon powerful moves in Pokémon Winds and Waves. These single-use items can dramatically alter a Pokémon's offensive capabilities, allowing for strategic type coverage and the exploitation of opponent weaknesses. Many TMs are found as rewards for completing specific trainer battles or as hidden treasures scattered throughout the Galar region. For instance, the TM for Thunderbolt, a potent Electric-type special attack with 90 base power and 100% accuracy, can be obtained by defeating the Electric-type Gym Leader, Raihan, in Hammerlocke. TRs, on the other hand, are often more common and can be acquired through battling wild Dynamax Pokémon in the Wild Area. A TR for Earthquake, a powerful Ground-type physical attack with 100 base power that hits all adjacent opponents, can frequently be found by defeating strong Dynamax Pokémon in the Giant's Mirror. Keep an eye out for sparkling spots on the ground in various routes and towns, as these often conceal valuable TMs. For example, the TM for Flamethrower, a Fire-type special attack with 90 base power and 10% chance to burn, is often found near the entrance to the Motostoke Outskirts. Some TMs are also available for purchase at the Battle Tower after reaching a certain rank, offering a reliable way to acquire specific moves once you've proven your mettle in combat. Remember that TRs are single-use, so consider which Pokémon will benefit most from the move before using it.
