BOSS: Heatran

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Type: Fire/Steel
• Weaknesses: Water, Ground, Fighting
• Resistances: Bug, Grass, Ice, Steel, Rock
• Ability: Flash Fire (Powers up Heatran's moves if hit by a Fire-type move)

Phases:

1. Heatran has no distinct phases, but its Flash Fire ability makes it dangerous if you try to use Fire attacks against it.

Strategy:

• Focus on Water, Ground, and Fighting type attacks. These will exploit its weaknesses and deal significant damage.
• Avoid using any Fire-type moves yourself. If Heatran is hit by a Fire move, its own Fire attacks will become much stronger, making the fight significantly harder.
• Consider bringing status-inflicting items or moves (like Paralysis or Sleep) to control Heatran's actions and give yourself breathing room.
• The dungeon leading up to Heatran, Mt. Avalanche, features dominant Ice and Water types. Having Pokémon strong against these types (like Grass or Electric for Water types) can help you conserve resources before the boss fight.
• Remember that the snowy weather in Mt. Avalanche speeds up Ice-type Pokémon, so be prepared for faster enemies on your way to Heatran.

• Upon defeating Heatran, you'll receive the Fiery Drum, an item that increases the recruitment rate of Fire-type Pokémon.
• There's also a chance to recruit Heatran itself to your team after the battle.
