Learn how to achieve the True Ending, Good Ending, and Golden Ending in Persona 4 Golden. This guide details all ending requirements and choices to avoid bad endings.

Persona 4 Golden features multiple endings, with only one being the true canon ending. This guide will walk you through the requirements for each ending, including the True Ending, Good Ending, and the exclusive Golden Ending, ensuring you don't miss any story content or accidentally trigger a bad ending.

Note: This guide contains minor spoilers. It is recommended not to read further if you are before December 3rd in-game.

How to Get the Normal and Good Ending

To achieve the best possible outcome, careful choices are necessary. The ending is determined by a critical decision on December 3rd.

When prompted with seven dialogue choices, select the following to avoid a bad ending:

1. Any Choice
2. Wait a second here…
3. We’re missing something.
4. Their true feelings.
5. Something’s been bothering me.
6. We’re missing something…
7. Calm the hell down!

An incorrect response will lead to the Bad Ending on March 20th. A correct response will advance the story to December 5th, where you must identify the true killer.

On December 5th, you will face two dialogue choices:

• "The person who seems to be the most likely culprit is..."
• "Should you tell your friends about your suspicions about ____ being the culprit?"

To progress towards the True Ending, conclude that Adachi is the culprit and tell your friends about your suspicions. Failing to do so or naming the wrong person results in a Bad Ending.

After these events, time skips to March 20th. You will be asked if you should return home. Choosing "Yes" leads to the Good Ending. To pursue the True Ending, you must choose "No".

How to Get the True Ending Epilogue

After experiencing the main story's conclusion and reaching March, you are guaranteed the Normal/Good Ending. To unlock the True Ending, you must interact with characters who have reached maximum Social Link rank before leaving town.

Key locations to find these characters include:

• Shopping District South: Chie (Chariot), Rise (Lovers), Shu (Tower), Marie (Aeon)
• The Amagi Inn: Yukiko (Priestess)
• The Hospital: Sayoko (Devil)
• The Day Care: Eri (Temperance)
• Shopping District North Shrine: Fox (Hermit)
• Shopping District North: Kanji (Emperor), Daisuke or Kou (Strength), Naoki (Hanged Man)
• Dojima Residence: Nanako (Justice), Dojima (Hierophant)
• Junes Food Court: Yosuke (Magician), Teddie (Star)
• Riverbank: Hisano (Death)
• School 1F: Ai (Moon)
• School Learning Building 1F: Naoto (Fortune)
• The Club Venue, School: Yumo or Ayane (Sun)

After speaking with all maxed Social Link characters, do NOT return home immediately. Instead, select "No", return to the Junes Food Court, examine the elevator, and again select "No", followed by "I'm not finished yet" and "Yes", then "There's something missing".

Next, visit the Riverbank to speak with Dojima and Nanako. Then, go to the Velvet Room to obtain the Orb of Clarity from Igor. On a New Game+ playthrough, this also unlocks a secret boss.

Proceed to the Shopping District South and speak to the gas station attendant. Continue talking until you learn crucial information, which will unlock the unique dungeon, Yomotsu Hirasaka.

Enter the Midnight Channel and complete the Yomotsu Hirasaka dungeon to uncover the ultimate truth. This is a point of no return. After defeating the final boss, you will achieve the True Ending.

How to Get the Golden Ending

The Golden Ending is exclusive to Persona 4 Golden and builds upon the True Ending. To achieve it, you must max out Marie's Aeon Social Link before completing the Magatsu Inaba dungeon in December (ideally by December 22nd).

If Marie's Social Link is maxed, follow the steps for the True Ending. You will receive the True Ending with an additional epilogue scene featuring Marie.

Unlocking Additional Content

Hollow Forest Dungeon

This secret dungeon, added in Persona 4 Golden, is unlocked by maxing Marie's Social Link. It offers extra story content and is the game's most challenging dungeon.

Margaret's Secret Boss Battle

This battle is only available on New Game Plus. After progressing towards the True Ending, visit the Velvet Room twice: first to get the Orb of Clarity from Igor, and second to speak with Margaret, who will provide an item to initiate the challenge.
