Kwolok's Hollow

Navigate Kwolok's Hollow in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Find Spirit Orbs, Life Cell Fragments, and learn how to defeat the Horn Beetle.

As soon as you enter Kwolok's Hollow, you will meet Twillen, he trades spirit shards and upgrades them.

Advance and a trap will trigger dropping a stone, now jump on the stone when it hits the ground and you will find a hidden passage with a Life Cell Fragment.

Keep going and you will find a poisoned lake, aim at the blue circle on the other side and the frog statue will put out his tongue towards you, use it to reach the other side, jump over the spikes and you will reach a locked gate with a purple sign, now turn back and jump on the platform above then shoot the frog statue to reach northwest, there you will find a Moki talk to him and he will show you a location for the Spirit Trials.

Next, head east, jump on the platforms and pull the lever to lower the water level, jump down and you will see a platform out of reach, keep descending then head west, shoot the frog statue ahead, jump on it then shoot it again, when the platform retreat jump on the pole ahead, be careful with the Dropper Slime (an enemy that falls from the ceiling and explodes) on the ceiling he will jump down and explode, you can safely dispatch with an arrow and proceed.

Now you have reached a large wooden platform with some frog statues pointing down, advance and defeat the mosquito, you will notice a pressure plate and a gate ahead, now jump on the pole then jump on the platform on the right, jump on the hanging rock and shoot the frog statue to bring the rock down.

Drop down and shoot the statue at the northwest, drag the stone to the statue's tongue then shoot and drag to the other, next drag the stone to the pressure plate to open the gate then proceed.

Head west and use the statues to reach to the other side, pull the lever then jump down where the stones are, there you will face an Exploding Caterpillar (an enemy that explodes) now shoot the statue on the top right then use it to reach the lever located at left, pull the lever then go to the right and shoot the first statue on the east then jump left to get a Spirit Orb and head back to the puzzle area.

Go where you have solved the puzzle of the pressure plate, drop down on the wooden platform then go left to get a Spirit Orb, next, jump off the pole, drop down ahead and defeat the mosquitos.

Go east and you will see Lupo (an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you)) in a platform out of reach, climb down the ropes, some enemies will be along the way, keep descending and you find a Spirit Orb on the far right, head downwards and you will reach a gate.

Now head southwest climb the rock and activate the pedestal to enable the spirit trial, next go to the east and you will see a lever above ground, as you approach it a Rhino Beetle (an enemy) will engage when he charges at you, jump so he hit the wall and get stunned then hit the glowing part on his back, after you defeat him, climb the walls then pull the lever and make your way back to the opened gate.

After you pass through the gate drop down and you will reach a Spirit Tree (a landmark that grants abilities), now you have gained the dash ability, your only exit is east, dash your way to advance, in the last falling rock you can drop down to get a Spirit Orb.

Next, go upwards in the platform section and you will find a Spirit Orb on the top right corner, in order to reach there jump from the rock where the Slime is and perform a double jump and dash to reach the vine, from it just jump to the right and you will get the spirit container.

After that proceed to the west and instead of jumping down on the platform go left and you will find a hidden area containing another Spirit Orb.

Head back to the gate entrance then go upwards when you reach the end of the first platform section you will see the Spirit Orb, now you can reach there by jumping from the rope and air dashing.

Keep upwards and you will reach the point where you saw Lupo, now you can reach him and buy the map of Kwolok's Hollow for 100 spirit light.

Now head west and when you reach the floating platform kill the enemy on the wall then climb up, jump on the pole and swing upwards, fight or evade the beetle and advance, wall jump your way to the top and you will find a Life Cell Fragment below a wooden platform and the start of the Spirit Trial, you can complete it to get 1000 spirit lights.

Next head back to the floating platform and head west, you will find a closed gate with some failing rocks trigger the first rock, when the rock drops, jump on it and shoot the blue circle in the top right corner, to open the gate, now jump and use the dash ability to get a Spirit Shard that gives you the Quickshot ability.

Dash your way back, then jump on the blue plant to reach the wall above as you climb the wall you can see a strange wall on the left, break it to find an Energy Cell Fragment.

Head upwards and now you must be able to reach the platform above the purple circle, shoot the circle and you will open the gate.

As soon as you pass through the gate and you will reach a Spirit Well (a save point), advance and you enter a large arena where you will fight the 2nd Boss.

Boss Battle: Horn Beetle

Boss Strategy: The Horn Beetle has 3 attacks, first he will do a ground pound sending a wave in front of him, do a double jump and or dash to escape the wave's trail. The second attack consists of him charging towards you, when gets close he will jump and hit his head on the ground, dodge roll while he is airborne then get behind him and hit the glowing part. The third one consists of him leaping from short distances, just roll while he is airborne.

After you defeat him some Moki will drop a vine so you can advance, ahead you will see a stone floor and a worm that acts as a mortar, make him hit the floor to break it and proceed downwards, next dodge the purple fireballs and head south until you reach a gate, now head west and you will find a Spirit Tree that gives you the Bash ability, with this power you can leap from lanterns, projectiles, and even enemies, next, use it to reach the Spirit Orb on the left corner above the tree.
