Each of the five weapons in Mortal Shell offers a unique combat experience. Upgrading them is essential for increasing your damage output and unlocking powerful weapon abilities.

Weapon List

• Hallowed Sword: Balanced, versatile.
• Martyr's Blade: Heavy, slow, high damage, ice effects.
• Hammer and Chisel: Fast, dual-wielded, quick combos.
• Smoldering Mace: Heavy, fire damage, ignites enemies.
• Ballistazooka: Ranged crossbow, uses bolts.

Weapon Abilities

Each weapon has two unique abilities that consume Resolve. These are unlocked and upgraded at the Workbenches in Fallgrim Tower. For example, the Hallowed Sword has 'Mechanical Spike' (a forward thrust) and 'Molten Spike' (a fiery AoE). Experiment to find which abilities suit your playstyle.

Upgrading Weapons

Weapons are upgraded at the Workbenches in Fallgrim Tower. You'll need specific upgrade materials:

• Quenching Acid: Used to increase a weapon's base damage. Each weapon requires 5 Quenching Acids to reach maximum level. These are rare finds in chests, dropped by mini-bosses, or purchased from Vlas.
• Mechanical Spike/Molten Spike (Hallowed Sword): Specific items found in the world that unlock and upgrade the Hallowed Sword's abilities. Each weapon has its own unique ability upgrade items.

Prioritize upgrading your main weapon as soon as you find Quenching Acid. The damage increase is significant and will make combat much easier.
