Kratos (2)

Kratos saves Earthrealm and is owed a debt of gratitude by Raiden and Fujin after defeating Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 9.

Shao Kahn was dead, and the God of War had prevailed. The spell that had summoned Kratos began to reverse itself, and as he slowly faded from this place and time, he was approached by Raiden and Fujin. Though Kratos had never been beloved by these gods, and did not count them among his enemies, he prepared for kombat. To his surprise, they bowed to him, a show of respect he had not seen from an immortal in many an age.

Raiden explained that though Kratos's motives were not pure, he had saved Earthrealm and was owed a debt of gratitude. As Kratos returned to his own world, he nodded silently, considering that their change of heart might prove useful one day, as a debt of gratitude is often dearly paid.
