Complete Operation Illapa in Just Cause 4. Destroy generators, turbines, and the Blizzard Core to secure Qachas and unlock the Wind Gun.
- 1Return to Estación Atalaya in Picos Nevados to start the mission.
- 2After cutscenes, assault the heavily defended train station ahead and flip two breakers.
- 3Get into the Stormchaser equipped with the ion coil.
- 4Outrun your tank escort and drive past the roadblock.
- 5Drive through the blizzard surrounding Illapa, being careful not to bounce off objects or enemy vehicles.
- 6Watch out for the Titan on the other side of the bridge.
- 7Upon reaching Illapa, destroy two generators to open the doors.
- 8Go up the nearby ramp, find the garage door on the building to your left, and use the console to open it.
- 9Tether the protective plating off the generator inside and destroy it.
- 10Head to another garage door building with a turret on it and repeat the process. Watch for helicopters.
- 11Enter Illapa through the now open doors.
- 12Fight through Black Hand, turrets, and weapon crates until you reach a room with locked doors.
- 13Hack two consoles in the room to open the doors.
- 14Deal with more Black Hand, including an armored soldier.
- 15Use the elevator to go down.
- 16Move forward to the room with the Blizzard Core.
- 17Destroy the four stabilizers, one at each corner, by shooting/blowing up the glowing orange lights.
- 18Head to the top of the core to trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically).
- 19Head to the front doors, which will open, and deal with the approximately five Black Hand that emerge. Use an explosive to defeat them.
- 20Use the console to unlock the turbines.
- 21Tether out the two turbines and destroy the spinning red cylinders inside.
- 22Fight through Black Hand, including grenadiers, invisible soldiers, and a Titan.
- 23Follow the waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination) through a circular door to an air turbine.
- 24Pop your parachute and ride the air current up to the second level.
- 25Enter through an opening above the locked doors.
- 26Deal with enemy fire, a defense cannon, and a Titan near the turbine.
- 27Head to the left side to safely tether the turbine open, then destroy it with explosive weapons.
- 28Head for the air turbine next to the defense cannon and ride up another level.
- 29Stock up on explosive weapons beforehand.
- 30Enter the atrium and take down the Titan.
- 31Defeat the three invisible soldiers Espinosa sends out.
- 32Break the windows and deal with helicopters on either side, plus riot shield soldiers coming through the entrance.
- 33Take out a few more helicopters to trigger the final cutscenes.
- In blizzards, lightning is your main obstacle. Visibility is reduced but not as much as in a sandstorm.
- Try to ignore enemies as best you can during the train station assault to save time.
- Be careful when driving the Stormchaser through the blizzard, as it's easy to bounce off things or get bounced by enemy vehicles and fall off cliffs.
- If lightning is about to hit you, try zipping under some cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects).
- Watch for helicopters while destroying the generators.
- When fighting Black Hand, turrets, and weapon crates, use cover effectively.
- There are no enemies in the room with the Blizzard Core.
- Use explosives to quickly defeat the Black Hand that emerge from the front doors after the core cutscene.
- When destroying the turbines, be aware of grenadiers, invisible soldiers, and a Titan.
- When entering the second level of the turbine area, be prepared for heavy enemy fire, including a defense cannon and a Titan.
- Take advantage of slow-to-respond helicopters by blowing them up before they can attack.
