Walkthrough

    Return to Estación Atalaya in Picos Nevados to start the mission.

    After cutscenes, assault the heavily defended train station ahead and flip two breakers.

    Get into the Stormchaser equipped with the ion coil.

    Outrun your tank escort and drive past the roadblock.

    Drive through the blizzard surrounding Illapa, being careful not to bounce off objects or enemy vehicles.

    Watch out for the Titan on the other side of the bridge.

    Upon reaching Illapa, destroy two generators to open the doors.

    Go up the nearby ramp, find the garage door on the building to your left, and use the console to open it.

Tips
  • In blizzards, lightning is your main obstacle. Visibility is reduced but not as much as in a sandstorm.
  • Try to ignore enemies as best you can during the train station assault to save time.
  • Be careful when driving the Stormchaser through the blizzard, as it's easy to bounce off things or get bounced by enemy vehicles and fall off cliffs.
  • If lightning is about to hit you, try zipping under some cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects).
  • Watch for helicopters while destroying the generators.
  • When fighting Black Hand, turrets, and weapon crates, use cover effectively.
  • There are no enemies in the room with the Blizzard Core.
  • Use explosives to quickly defeat the Black Hand that emerge from the front doors after the core cutscene.
  • When destroying the turbines, be aware of grenadiers, invisible soldiers, and a Titan.
  • When entering the second level of the turbine area, be prepared for heavy enemy fire, including a defense cannon and a Titan.
  • Take advantage of slow-to-respond helicopters by blowing them up before they can attack.

Miscellaneous Objectives in Qachas

Illapa - Helicopter Stunt

Objective: Pass through the ring in a Spectre Attack Heli.

Notes: Illapa is the large base in the middle of Qachas. The ring is under an airstrip at the Northwest end of the compound. You can find a Spectre Attack Heli at an outpost on the road North of the ring, or call one in.

ACHIEVEMENT/TROPHY: Stunt Driver is awarded for completing all Vehicle Stunts. Where I Belong is awarded for standing at the highest point in Solís; the highest peak is on a mountain East/Southeast of the Illapa tower.
