• The Book of Belial: While primarily a damage-boosting active item, its effect on Devil/Angel Room spawns can indirectly lead to health-restoring items or opportunities. In older versions (Rebirth), it guaranteed a Devil or Angel Room. In newer versions, it increases the chance.
• Dead Cat: This item grants five lives (effectively turning your single Red Heart into five respawns). It has virtually no downside for Judas early on, as he starts with only one Red Heart. It also contributes to the Guppy transformation.
• Items that activate on low health: Items like Scapular, Monkey Paw, Glyph of Balance, and Whore of Babylon become more potent or easier to utilize due to Judas' low starting health. These can provide crucial benefits when your health is low, turning a disadvantage into an advantage.
