This is where you'll get to team up with the ever-reliable Daruk and help him pilot the Divine Beast Vah Rudania. It all kicks off with Zelda asking Daruk to take the reins, and of course, he's all for it. But, as he'll tell you, Death Mountain isn't exactly a walk in the park – it's crawling with monsters. That's where Link comes in to help clear the path. Once you and Daruk start pushing through, taking over outposts and dealing with some Moblins, you'll eventually run into your first big challenge: an Igneo Talus. Keep an eye out for it on the northern part of the map. After you've made your way to Vah Rudania, Daruk will take control of the Divine Beast. He'll go to town on the monsters, including more Igneo Taluses and Fire Wizzrobes. After the dust settles, there's a neat little scene where Daruk gives Link some Prime Rock Meat, which turns out to be surprisingly edible! Impa and Zelda are pretty impressed. ### Strategy: Taking Down the Igneo Talus This fiery boss likes to chuck rocks, so you'll need to be nimble. Your best bet is to use an ice rod to chill it out and then hammer it with remote bombs. Link's unique attacks are also super helpful here. Aim for the coal on top of the Igneo Talus – that's its weak spot! Here's a cool trick: if you hit the Igneo Talus with a remote bomb when its Weak Point Gauge is exposed, Link can actually jump onto the beast and slice away at its critical point. This deals a ton of damage, so try to pull it off as much as you can. ### Strategy: Piloting Vah Rudania Controlling Vah Rudania feels pretty similar to Vah Ruta, so you should get the hang of it quickly. Daruk's got this! The main thing to watch out for is the Counter. It's a bit trickier to nail than Vah Ruta's shield, so try to save Daruk's Special Attack for when you're nearing the end of the path, especially when there are a lot of Igneo Taluses trying to make Vah Rudania their personal crushing machine. ### Collectibles and Materials Keep your eyes peeled during this mission, as there are 8 Korok Seeds and 6 Treasure Chests scattered around. You'll also be on the lookout for materials like Fireproof Lizards, Smotherwing Butterflies, Spicy Peppers, Warm Safflinas, and Warm Darners.
