Complete Valravn walkthrough for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, including lorestones, puzzles, and combat strategy. Learn the optimal order to face Valravn and Surt.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Approach the door with the Valravn symbol to automatically open it and begin the section.
  2. 2
Head forward through the door and into a small tunnel. Before entering the tunnel, find Lorestone 1/5 in stone ruins to the right.
  3. 3
Proceed through the tunnel to an area with a Valravn seal on a stone door. Focus on the seal with R2 to activate the puzzle.
  4. 4
Continue along the path to a wooden drawbridge. Interact with the metal fastener to lower the bridge.
  5. 5
Cross the bridge to find a circular ring. Looking through this ring at the stone wall reveals that the Valravn seal door disappears. Walk through the ring to make the wall disappear, then proceed through the revealed tunnel. You can jump off the cliff in front of the ring to return across the bridge.
  6. 6
Go through the tunnel and up a stone staircase, then climb a ladder. Follow the only available path through the fog until you reach a large wooden door and open it.
  7. 7
Turn left after entering the door and approach another wooden door. Attempting to open it triggers an enemy attack.
  8. 8
If Valravn is your first boss, you will face 6 swordsmen one at a time. After defeating one, another spawns immediately. This is an ideal place to practice combat. To reset the fight, pause and select 'Exit to Main Menu'. The game saves automatically after defeating the final enemy. Backing up your save to a flash drive is an optional precaution.
  9. 9
If Surt was fought first, you will face stronger enemies here, but you will have the focus ability. The sequence is: one swordsman, then two swordsmen, then one swordsman and one mace enemy, then two swordsmen and one mace enemy.
  10. 10
After the combat, proceed through the door. Ahead is another door with a Valravn seal that cannot be opened directly. Focus on the seal with R2 to activate its puzzle.
  11. 11
To the right of the door are two red trees with feathers and bones. Walk behind the trees to find a hole in the wall to the right of the Valravn door. Pass between the red trees to make the hole permanent, then enter it.
  12. 12
Follow the path as it curves left, leading onto a balcony overlooking the door. Climb a small obstruction by pressing .
  13. 13
From the balcony, align yourself so the three parts of the raven symbol hanging between the balcony and the door line up to match the Valravn symbol on the door. Focus with R2 when correctly positioned to unlock the door.
  14. 14
If you have trouble aligning the Raven seals, try walking around and attempting the alignment repeatedly.
Tips
  • The order in which you fight Valravn and Surt affects the enemy types you face in each section. Fighting Valravn first means sword enemies in his section and tougher enemies before Surt. Fighting Surt first means sword enemies before Surt and tougher enemies before Valravn.
  • You gain access to your focus ability when you fight the first of the two bosses. You will have this ability for the second section you tackle, provided you finish one before starting the other.
  • Leaving a section partway and returning will still result in tougher enemies for that section, but you will not have your focus ability if you haven't completed the first boss.
  • For story reasons, doing Valravn first is recommended, although Surt is an easier boss fight.
  • The video walkthrough provides timestamps for Lorestones (0:50, 8:12, 13:58, 14:50, 19:47), illusion doors (1:45), combat encounters (3:29, 12:20), Raven Seals (4:55, 6:35, 16:57, 25:06), and the Valravn boss fight (30:17).
