This guide covers the initial experience designed to introduce players to Hearthstone, known as the tutorial. It is composed of six 'missions' and must be completed before playing Hearthstone properly. The tutorial is a directed game mode with simplified gameplay and helpful instructions, introducing basic game elements and mechanics gradually.

Upon completion, players are taken to the main menu and awarded quests to practice. While the tutorial ends, guidance continues on new screens and during the first matches, explaining concepts like the mulligan and The Coin. It's the first and most critical part of the new player experience.

The tutorial is presented the first time a player opens the game in any region and can be replayed via the Solo Adventures menu.

Gameplay

Each 'mission' is a battle against a special enemy hero or boss. Players control Jaina Proudmoore, learning Hearthstone basics through a directed experience with limited actions. Basic game elements are introduced with each mission, accompanied by tips and instructions. Each mission features dialogue between Jaina and her opponent.
