Season 8: Mythic, released on October 13, 2021, brought a significant update to Halo: The Master Chief Collection. This season focused on expanding options and improving existing features across multiple Halo titles within the collection.

Key additions and improvements include:

• Custom Game Browser: Expanded to include Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3.
• New Customization Content: Introduction of the Fractures concept with non-canon armor permutations for Halo 3, inspired by various human cultures. New nameplates were also added.
• Gameplay Enhancements:
• Halo: Reach and Halo 4 received improvements in customization options, including the ability to select body type and voice separately.
• Firefight options for Halo 3: ODST were expanded.
• Graphic improvements were made for Halo: Combat Evolved (Classic and Anniversary), Halo 2 Classic, and Halo 4.
• New collectibles, Moa statues, were added to Halo 3's campaign.
• View Model Adjustment was implemented for all games.
• Colorblind Support options were introduced.
• PC Features:
• PC File Share functionality was added.
• Steam Account Linking was implemented.
