How to Beat Brute Chieftains

Strategies for defeating Brute Chieftains in Halo 3: armor stripping, headshots, plasma grenades, and heavy weapons.

Brute Chieftains are the toughest of the Brute hierarchy, often wielding powerful weapons like the Gravity Hammer or Fuel Rod Gun, and protected by an invulnerable armor system. To defeat them, you must first strip their armor. Plasma weapons are highly effective for this. Once their armor is gone, they become vulnerable to headshots. Plasma grenades stuck to them are also incredibly effective. Maintain distance if they have a Gravity Hammer, or use a Spartan Laser/Rocket Launcher for quick takedowns. Focus fire and coordinate with allies.

• Armor Stripping: Use plasma weapons (Plasma Rifle, Brute Plasma Rifle) to quickly deplete their armor.
• Headshots: Once armor is gone, aim for the head with precision weapons (Battle Rifle, Carbine, Sniper).
• Plasma Grenades: Stick them with plasma grenades for guaranteed damage and a quick kill.
• Heavy Weapons: Rocket Launchers and Spartan Lasers can take them down quickly, even with armor.
• Gravity Hammer Strategy: Maintain distance, use grenades, or focus fire from range.
• Fuel Rod Gun Strategy: Use cover, flank them, and engage at medium range.
