Master the Twin Fists Aspect of Zagreus in Hades II with optimal boons like Lightning Strike and upgrades like Breaching Cross for balanced offense and defense.

The Twin Fists in Hades II have two primary Aspect options: Ruthless Reflex and Greater Reflex. Ruthless Reflex allows for quicker enemy dispatch by staying in the fray but increases inbound attacks. Greater Reflex keeps more enemies staggered and allows for Dashing away from attacks, at the cost of Ruthless Reflex buffs. Ruthless Reflex is generally superior but requires adjustment, while Greater Reflex is more similar to other melee weapons and allows for more flexible Keepsake choices.

With the right boon setup, the basic Fists can deal enough damage for a full run without Aspect or Keepsake buffs. Buffing evasion with the Aspect of Zagreus provides excellent offense and durability. For boons, the Fists’ Special is usually ignored unless you have the Draining Cutter upgrade for life restoration, in which case Heartbreak Flourish is a good damage option. Otherwise, focus on high-volume Attack boons.

Excellent Attack boons include Lightning Strike, Divine Strike, and Frost Strike. Lightning Strike spreads damage via chain lightning and can reach astronomical levels with the Splitting Bolt Legendary boon (Storm Lightning is the only prerequisite that doesn't require another lightning boon), adding a 40-damage bolt per strike. This approach is good for Lambent Plume buffs and can contribute to Privileged Status if you get a Jolted effect.

Divine Strike is second best, reliably warding off projectiles and synergizing with Aspect of Zagreus's defensive nature. It provides access to Deadly Reversal (an Athena/Artemis Duo boon) after a deflection, boosting damage significantly. If using Divine Strike, prioritize the Exposed effect boon to maintain Privileged Status.

Demeter’s Frost Strike spreads Chill, slowing enemies and improving reaction time, though it lacks significant Duo boon synergies.

For your Dash, defensive options like Divine Dash (ideally with Exposed), Passion Dash (for Weak), or Mistral Dash (with Lightning Strike) are recommended. Dionysus’s Aid can help trigger Privileged Status if using a non-Status Dash or Lightning Strike without Jolt. Hunter Dash can boost Attack chain damage with dash strikes, but its offensive benefit is often outweighed by the defensive benefits of deflection, Weak, or Chill, as Hunter Dash cannot impart a status curse.

For Malphon (Twin Fists) upgrades, Breaching Cross is the best option for Aspect of Zagreus, specializing in stagger-juggling. It melts armored enemy protection and speeds up encounters, aiding Lambent Plume boosts. Breaching Cross and Long Knuckle are an ideal configuration, though other options exist.

Complementary upgrades: Breaching Cross, Long Knuckle, Colossus Knuckle, Concentrated Knuckle, Rolling Knuckle, possibly Draining Cutter.

Complementary boons: High-frequency Attack boons (Demeter, Zeus, possibly Athena, possibly Aphrodite); defensive Dash boons (Athena, Aphrodite, Demeter) or possibly Hunter Dash.

Aspect of Talos: Special becomes Magnet Cutter, pulling in an enemy for 20 damage before executing Rising Cutter. Enemies hit by Magnet Cutter take +50% damage from Attacks and Casts for 4 seconds at max Aspect level. Magnet Cutter is useful early for picking off individual enemies but declines in effectiveness as runs progress. The 4-second 50% Attack and Cast damage debuff helps maintain its value.
