Master Five Nights at Freddy's 4's Night 7 (4/20 mode) with this detailed walkthrough. Learn strategies for Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy to earn the elusive third star.
Ah, the famous Custom Night. You can make this night as easy as Night 1 by setting everything to its lowest possible difficulty level... or, if you're truly insane, try your hand at the legendary "4/20" mode, where you spend one nightmarish night against the four most murderous animatronics ever created. Since there's no fun with no challenge, we'll discuss 4/20 mode here, and the strategy you can use to elevate yourself to the godly realms of the FNAF elite and earn yourself that ever-elusive third star.
A brief disclaimer before we begin: the "Freddy stun-lock" strategy no longer works on 4/20, due to the blazing fast speed at which he moves (remember: since AI level 20 both guarantees successful movement chances and eliminates Freddy's movement delay, he'll be moving every 3 seconds). He's bound to move in the brief interim in which you're checking the lights, so there's no more getting off easy with Freddy anymore. Plus, on this mode, keeping the camera on 4B is more useful anyway, since it'll also allow you to keep better tabs on Chica and better prepare yourself for her attacks (remember: she can only move to the door from the East Hall Corner).
To start off the night, immediately switch your Camera feed to 4B in preparation for Freddy. Once there, start your pattern of constantly flicking the camera up for a split second at a time. Make sure you're pacing it so that you catch at least a glimpse of the actual camera feed each time; otherwise, it won't register, and it'll make Foxy attack that much faster. You've generally got a 15 second head start on your opponents, so spend that time focused exclusively on the camera.
After the initial 15 seconds is up, you'll switch to the basic pattern you'll be following most of the night:
- Check camera 5 times, pacing it so that you have a little less than a second between checks
- Check only the left light
- Rinse and repeat
Of course, you won't be able to keep up this pattern forever. Certain scenarios will occur that will force you to change up your pattern a bit:
- Bonnie shows up at the left door. In this scenario, close the door, flick the camera another 5 times, then open the door. Remember; because at level 20 Bonnie's movement chances are guaranteed to succeed, he's guaranteed to have left your door after 5 seconds . Once you open the door, resume the pattern above.
- Chica shows up on camera 4B. In this scenario, after you're done checking the camera, check both lights instead of just the left one. If Chica then shows up at the right door, close it. During this time, it is safe to switch to another feed, so use this time to check Foxy's progress on 1C if you want. Just make sure to switch back to 4B before you open the right door again. As with Bonnie, Chica should leave after the next round of camera checks.
- Foxy disappears from Pirate Cove. Since the right door should already be closed if you're able to check for this, get out of the cameras, close the left door, then immediately switch the camera to 2A to trigger Foxy's attack. Once the attack's been set off, immediately switch the camera back to 4B, and check the left light before reopening the door in case Bonnie has showed up in the interim.
Now, while the above strategy isn't 100% foolproof (mainly because of the randomness in how aggressively the animatronics, particularly Foxy, attack), it is the most reliable and will allow you to win 4/20 more often than not. If the fates align just right, you're even likely to have a sliver of leftover power by the time all's said and done.
Enjoy your pink slip and your well-earned 3rd star, champ!
