Controls:

Menus: X confirms, O cancels. Directional buttons select modes. Square accesses mail and randomizes quick battle conditions. Start brings up tutorials. Triangle allows character customization (abilities, equipment, summons). Characters have 3 ground and 3 aerial abilities for bravery and HP damage, with choices to be made based on CP limits. AP is earned through combat to master abilities and learn new ones. EXP improves stats, and PP can be used at the PP catalog.

Fighting: Analog stick moves character; directional buttons adjust the camera. X jumps, O performs bravery attacks, and Square performs HP attacks. Bravery attacks build damage potential, while HP attacks deplete the enemy's HP by that amount. Abilities are context-sensitive: pressing O while neutral, approaching, or backing away performs different attacks. This applies to both aerial and ground attacks, and bravery/HP abilities. R blocks, L targets enemies. R + X dodges, R + O calls summons. EX Mode is activated by filling the EX bar with EX Force and EX Cores, then pressing R + Square. Entering EX Mode grants invulnerability and enhances abilities. Landing an HP attack in EX Mode and pressing Square again triggers an EX Burst, a character-specific ultimate attack requiring button sequences.
