The Foundation

Talk to the Board: Head to the Director's Office, then to the Hotline Chamber. Use the telephone to speak with the Board and learn about a threat.

Find the Door: Return to Central Executive via the Director's Office. Fast travel to Foundation. The door is next to the control point. Interact with it to proceed.

Explore the Foundation: Head down the tunnel until you reach a locked door. Launch the power core into the outlet to open it. Continue down the tunnel to Research Site Gamma. Find the tape recorder and play Log 1: Discovery Ash tape.

Continue Exploration: Levitate across a gap to a ledge with a loot box (inaccessible for now). Continue through the tunnel; you will automatically receive a Hotline entry from Marshall, The Foundation. Levitate across a gap in the cave floor and follow the tunnel to encounter three Hiss Charged.

Reach Research Site Delta: Emerge in a cave with three tunnels. The right tunnel has a loot container. The left tunnel is blocked by a void. Take the tunnel opposite your entry point towards Research Site Delta.

Deal with Hiss and Claim Control Point: As the cave opens, deal with three Hiss hanging from the ceiling. Claim the Cave System control point. A locked door is to your right (inaccessible for now). Levitate across the gap in front of you and continue down the tunnel.

Find Research and Encounter Hiss Sharpened: In the next cave opening, find the Cave Paintings research on the floor to your left. Cross the bridge over the chasm and fight several Hiss Sharpened. You will automatically unlock the Hiss Sharpened research.

Collect Items and Navigate Geysers: On the other side of the chasm, grab the loot container near the earth mover and examine the Relocation Order correspondence on the ground near the shelter. Go up the ramp to a cave with geysers. Levitate to the ledge on the left to avoid them. Ignore the other ledge across the cave as it's a dead end. Make your way back down to the exit.

Find More Research and Cave Bleed: In the next cave, find the Foundation Accident correspondence on the ground to your right. Continue to the Cave Bleed, an area where the Astral Plane intersects with the material world.

Cross the Cave Bleed: Levitate to the first platform. After clearing enemies (Astral Copies and Hiss), you will unlock the Astral Copy research. Use the other platforms to cross to the other side.

Reach the Crossroads: Follow the tunnel and use Levitate to cross the gap. Follow the tunnel to emerge in a large cavern called the Crossroads.

Investigate the Crossroads: Claim the Crossroads control point. In the building to your right, find a loot container. In the other building, find a tape recorder with Log 2: Foundation. To the left of the control point, search a shelter for the Leylines research and another shelter for the Foundation Pillar research.

Discover Hidden Location: To the right of the onyx structure, look down to find ledges. Drop down the first two for a loot container. Hug the left wall to find a ledge. Follow it to a cave mouth. Squeeze past the wooden structure and head down the tunnel. Examine the folder for the Unacceptable Behavior Memo. You will discover a Hidden Location. Opening the loot container here triggers an ambush of Hiss Charged. Return to the Crossroads.

Investigate the Nail: Examine the large onyx structure. The Board will address you and ask you to choose an ability: Shape or Fracture. Choose Fracture for now (Shape can be unlocked later).

Complete the Astral Plane Challenge: Shoot the crystal formations blocking your path and proceed. Levitate to the next platform, shoot more crystals, and levitate up. Shoot crystals above you and levitate up. Shoot the next set of crystals and then shoot a crystal to lower a block to progress.
