Learn how to achieve all 4 endings in Code Vein. This guide details the vestige restoration requirements for the Bad, Neutral, and Good/True endings.

This game has 3 endings with the final one having 2 variants, for a total of four endings. How you get the endings is determined by how you went about collecting and restoring the vestiges. This section is here because as of the next dungeon in the game (Cathedral of the Sacred Blood), the Vestiges will help to determine the endings.

There are 4 dungeons in which the vestiges you can collect from there determine the endings. These are:

  • Cathedral of the Sacred Blood
  • Ridge of the Frozen Souls
  • City of Falling Flame
  • Crown of Sand

Within these dungeons are the vestiges of the bosses (successors) at the end of them. If you collect and restore them all BEFORE defeating the boss, there will be a Vestige scene after which you will be in front of the former Bosses petrified body. If you restored their vestiges, you can talk to them. If you do not talk to them (and go through the door in the back) or don't restore the vestiges (preventing you from talking to them), then that will count towards the Bad or Neutral endings and you will be locked out of the Good/True ending. Also, if you restore their vestiges and talk to them, you will gain their blood code; otherwise, you get a Queen's blood code (hence you need more than one playthrough to get all blood codes).

The Bad ending (Heirs) will occur if you do not speak to or do not restore the vestiges of ALL of the bosses (Successors), and will end the game after the first final boss.

The Neutral ending (To eternity) will occur if you restore the vestiges of some but not all Successors. You can do 3/4 or 1/4, both count as long as you restore at least 1 but not more than 3.

The final Ending, the Good/True ending has 2 variants. Firstly, the requirement is obviously restoring EVERY successor's vestiges. However, the two variants differ in what you do with another set of vestiges. During every dungeon, you will encounter Eos Vestiges (belonging to Io), usually they spawn after the boss is beaten in place of where an Io lookalike used to be. You can restore all of these as well, and whether you do or not determines whether you get one variant or the other.

Unlike other endings, you do not need an entire playthrough for this; you simply need to defeat the final boss first without restoring all of the Eos vestiges and then load the game and defeat the final boss again after doing so to see both versions.
