Walkthrough

    Activate the mistle (save point). Avoid Ichor (special resource) reliant builds as the sand saps it and enemies inflict leak (status effect).

    Proceed until you reach a door that won't open and a fork.

    Follow the path straight ahead to another fork. The south path leads to an item. The east path has a powerful wind mantis-type enemy that inflicts leak and moves around. Sand on this path also saps ichor. A vestige (5) is located beyond this enemy. Do not pick it up if aiming for the bad ending.

    Return to the first fork and take the other path until another fork.

    Go straight to find a vestige (4).

    Follow the other path to a fork, where you will be confronted by 3 enemies. Beat them and destroy the boxes.

    Cross the sand (beware of a sand slime underneath), then climb the ladder and follow it to another vestige (6).

    Return to the fork and take the other path, then go up the ladder.

    Follow the path to an open, stadium-like area with a Regen (stat boost) upgrade in the middle of a sand pit. Enemies hide in the sand and around the pit.

    Walk around the pit until you reach a point on the east side where you can jump down.

    Walk forward to a fork. To your right is a resting mistle.

    Activate the mistle and advance up the ladder. A powerful enemy above will sling large boulders of sand and rock down the path. Use the sides as cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects), being careful of boxes and enemies in alcoves, to reach and defeat the enemy.

    Follow the path to a ridge with enemies and another fork. Take the left path to avoid a sand pit (both paths lead to the same spot).

    At the next fork, ignore the north path leading to a powerful enemy for now. Go west to a ladder. A vestige (7) is further west.

    Go up the ladder and follow the path to an elevator. Go down it to reach a room, then go down another ladder to activate a corrupted mistle (a type of save point) and open the door from the beginning, creating a shortcut.

    Return to the first fork and deal with the powerful enemy you ignored earlier. Be wary of its wind barrier. A chest (2) is behind where it was.

    Continue down the remaining path. This area has a lot of sand, limiting movement and ichor. Sand slimes hide around.

    Reach a fork and go north to a ladder. Go down the ladder to purify a corrupted mistle.

    Return to the fork and go south for an item, then west to continue. Defeat a couple of enemies and collect the last vestige (8) in the corner.

    Go south to lower a ladder, creating a shortcut to the starting point's resting mistle.

    Advance towards the boss, activating the corrupted mistle on the way. An Io lookalike will be in front of the boss room.

Successor of the Throat Boss Battle:

This boss is generally easy, with mostly close-range attacks. An exception is an attack where she pushes arms into the ground, which then sprout and follow you. She can also spin to create tornadoes. Her attacks can cause leak infliction.

In the second phase, she uses difficult-to-see wind attacks that require precise dodging.

Tips
  • A mage build is best if using a partner, as the boss has limited range attacks besides the underground arms and tornadoes.
  • If fighting solo, a two-handed sword strength build using Queenslayer or a one-handed sword, especially with Final Journey (a powerful buff), will be more effective.
  • After the battle, a vestige scene will play. You will be in front of her statue.
  • If you restored all her vestiges, you will receive the Harmonia Blood code. Otherwise, you get the Queen's Throat blood code.
  • Jack joins as an ally after the scenes. If Eva was saved, she will join as well.
  • A vestige has appeared where the Io lookalike was.

Side Quest Wrap-up:

  • Go to the start of the Crown of Sand area and speak to Matthew. Defeat the enemy that appears on the map and report back to receive an item that grants a gift.
  • Go to Poisonous Butterfly Nest and talk to the self-important revenant for a minor conversation.
  • Return to the base. Jack will now appear; speak to him to receive his blood code. Speak to him multiple times for more story lore.
  • Speak to everyone else in the base.
  • Return to the Crown of Sand area where you fought the boss and use the purple mistle to go to the next area.
