Walkthrough

    Upon arriving in Mimiga Village, head right to find a save point and refill station.

    Go east of the save point, drop down a gap onto a hanging platform, and hop right to find a treasure chest containing the Map System.

    Head back to the save point and jump upwards to reach Yamashita Farm.

    On Yamashita Farm, go to the other side to find a Life Capsule in the water.

    Return to Mimiga Village and enter the Reservoir on the middle left edge.

    In the Reservoir, hop to the fishing Mimiga, drop into the water, and press Down near the sparkles at the bottom to find the Silver Locket.

    Exit the Reservoir and follow Toroko after a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically).

    After the cutscene in Mimiga Village, save and enter the shack at the southeast corner.

    Inside the shack, jump over Toroko when she attacks and shoot her.

    Talk to Toroko, which will trigger an encounter with Misery and Balrog. You will have the option to fight Balrog.

Tips
  • Balrog's main attack is a charge. After two charges, he will add a jump.
  • If Balrog gets too close, he will grab you. Maintain distance to avoid this.
  • Continuously shoot Balrog with the Polar Star and jump over him if he gets too close.
  • Having the Polar Star at level 2 is recommended for the Balrog fight, but level 1 is still viable.
  • Balrog drops a significant amount of experience crystals upon defeat.
