Master Brawlhalla's gadgets! Learn the uses of Bouncy Bombs, Pressure Mines, Spike Balls, and more. Get tips to use them effectively in matches and dominate your opponents.
Hey there! So you're diving into Brawlhalla and want to know more about those little things that pop up during a match? Let's talk about
Gadgets! Think of them like extra tools in your arsenal, kind of like weapons, that can really shake things up.
Gadgets appear randomly during a match, and anyone can grab them. You can throw them, and if you're quick, you can even catch them! Just a heads-up, if you get hit while holding a gadget, you'll drop it. Also, there's this neat mechanic called "throw clash." If you're stunned after an attack and throw a gadget within 25 frames, it'll actually pass through enemies. Pretty cool, right?
If you're not a fan of gadgets, you can actually turn them off in the settings, both for Custom Games and when you're looking for a Ranked Match.
## Regular Gadgets
These are the ones you'll see most often in standard game modes.
### Bouncy Bomb
!Gadget Bomb
When you pick up a
Bouncy Bomb, it turns red and is ready to be thrown. If it hits anyone (including you!) or an enemy, it explodes, damaging anyone nearby. Be careful though, there's a small window where it won't hurt you if you throw it too close. As the name implies, this bomb bounces off walls like crazy! If it bounces around too much and loses speed, it'll turn blue again and become safe. You can even pick it up after throwing it if you time it right.
*
Special Designs: During Brawlhalloween, it looks like a pumpkin bomb, and if you use the "-noskulls" launch option, it's just a plain bomb.
This gadget disappears after 15 seconds, just like most others.
### Pressure Mine

This is another explosive gadget. When thrown, the Pressure Mine sticks to walls and becomes active. If anyone touches it, boom! It explodes, and yes, that includes you if you throw it. If no one touches it for about 8 seconds, it'll just vanish. If an enemy hits it mid-air, it explodes. But if you hit it mid-air after throwing it, it'll pass right through you. You can also catch it if you're quick!
It also despawns after 15 seconds.
### Spike Ball

The Spike Ball is all about knocking your opponents around. Unlike the bombs, it won't hurt you if you throw it. When it hits an enemy, they take damage and get knocked back, and the Spike Ball stops dead. If it hits a wall or the ground, it won't hurt anyone who touches it then.
It also despawns after 15 seconds.
### Sidekick Summoner
[![Gadget Horn]()](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/brawlhalla_gamepedia/images/f/f9/Gadget_Horn.png/revision/latest?cb=20200528002451)
This one's pretty unique! When you use the Sidekick Summoner, you'll blow into it, and your Sidekick will charge in from the right side of the screen. They'll be holding a weapon, which they'll drop right where you used the summoner. Your sidekick will also damage and knock back any enemies in their path.
When thrown, its speed is 0.9 times a normal weapon throw. The sidekick always charges from the right, horizontally from where you used it. They move super fast, crossing the whole map in about 2 to 2.5 seconds.
* Edge Case: If you get knocked off the stage while your sidekick is out, they'll stop and leave the stage to try and save you. If sudden death happens, all sidekick summoners disappear.
* Lobby Setting: If weapons are disabled in the lobby settings, the sidekick won't drop a weapon crate.
This gadget also despawns after 15 seconds.
### Homing Boomerang

The Homing Boomerang is a newer gadget that was added in a patch. It's designed to track enemies, making it harder to dodge. When thrown, it will fly towards the nearest enemy. If it hits an enemy, it will deal damage and knock them back. If it misses, it will return to the player who threw it, allowing for a potential second hit or a quick retrieval. It's a great tool for applying pressure or finishing off opponents who are trying to escape.
This gadget also despawns after 15 seconds.
