Choosing Your First Legend

Tips for new players on how to choose their first Legend in Brawlhalla based on weapon preference, signature playstyle, and stats.

When you first start, you'll have access to a rotating roster of 6-8 free Legends. Take advantage of this! Play a few matches with each free Legend to get a feel for their weapons and signature attacks. Each Legend has two unique weapons and three signature attacks per weapon (Neutral, Side, Down). Consider the following:

• Weapon Preference: Do you prefer fast, close-range weapons like Sword or Katars, or slower, heavy-hitting weapons like Axe or Hammer?
• Signature Playstyle: Some Legends have signatures that are great for edge-guarding, others for combo extensions, and some for raw damage.
• Stats: Each Legend has unique stats (Strength, Dexterity, Defense, Speed). While less critical early on, they influence how a Legend feels to play. High Strength means more damage and knockback, high Dexterity means faster attack animations, high Defense means more resilience, and high Speed means faster movement.

Don't worry about making the 'perfect' choice initially. The goal is to find a Legend whose weapons and general playstyle resonate with you. Once you find one you enjoy, you can unlock them permanently using Gold, which is earned by playing matches.
