Alright, let's talk about The Sleeping Canvases. This place is filled with some pretty unsettling art, and honestly, it's not meant for the eyes of the faithful. Think of it as where blasphemous art goes when it can't be hidden away in the Library of the Negated Words. Their creators? Well, they're usually exiled, if they're lucky. This area connects to the Library of the Negated Words twice – once near the start, before the first Prie Dieu, and again after the boss fight. You'll also find a path to Mercy Dreams, but watch out for those swinging blades and tricky platforms. As you explore, you'll notice these large, curved blades swinging from above. Keep an eye out for paintings scattered everywhere. One in particular is super important for the Children of Moonlight quest. Look for a big mural of a bull, the moon, and some cherubs. It's to the left of the second Prie Dieu. If you interact with it, a voice will speak to the Penitent One, asking you to 'guide my brothers back to me.' That's Jocinero, by the way. There's a puzzle room in the bottom right. It has three paintings: one with a bleeding palm, and two with candles (blue and red). To solve it, you'll need the Big Bead of Blue Wax and Big Bead of Red Wax rosary beads. Equip them, then hold down the RANGED ATTACK button. A door will open on the right, and inside, you'll find a Mea Culpa Heart. Later on, after a room with a bunch of Armature enemies, an Amargura, and some more swinging blades, you'll find Candelaria's shop. She sells the Wicker Knot, Empty Bile Vessel, and the Key of the Inquisitor. Finally, your boss here is Expósito, Scion of Abjuration.
