Complete Part 22 of the Battlefield 1 walkthrough. Learn how to defeat the final boss, the armored train Canavar, and find all five field manuals.
- 1Stealth Objective: Destroy Ottoman Armored Cars
- Objective: Blow up three Ottoman armored cars without being spotted.
- 2Tip: The green tent north of your starting position contains three bundles of dynamite, enough for all three cars.
- 3Tip: A silenced M1903 Springfield rifle is also in the weapon tent.
- 4Caution: A sentry on the watertower can spot you. It's recommended to take him out quietly first. The watertower also offers a good vantage point.
- 5If detected: Restarting from the checkpoint is possible but may result in lost progress.
- 6Collect Field Manuals
- Field Manual #62: Near your starting position, in a ruined building to the west of the first armored car.
- 7Field Manual #63: Return to the watertower, go north for about 20 seconds to two houses. The manual is in the left house, bottom floor, east room, north-west corner.
- 8Field Manual #64: From the houses, go west towards the other watertower for about 10 seconds. The manual is next to some boulders on your left.
- 9Field Manual #65: Continue west to the watertower, then north-west past it to find the manual next to some rocks.
- 10Field Manual #66: Go south-east to a T-junction, follow the trail south into the village, and go up the sandy slope on your left. Find the large house with sandbags and camouflage netting. The manual is inside on the bottom floor, next to some boxes in the south-west corner.
- 11Final Boss: Armored Train Canavar
- Objective: Take down the armored train.
- 12Requirement: Complete the battle with two field guns (cannons) still operational.
- 13Strategy: Use the field guns along the north-west side of the village to attack the train. Be aware that using them will attract attention and they will be destroyed quickly.
- 14Tip: Leave two field guns unused to meet the requirement.
- 15Other Weapons: Rocket guns, rifle grenades, 13.2mm Tankgewehr anti-tank rifle, AT grenades, limpet mines, and dynamite are available. Airburst mortars are also present, with one on a larger house on the south-east side capable of reaching the railway.
- 16Hard Difficulty Tip: Using dynamite at the start and then relying on rocket guns and the T-Gewehr is a viable strategy.
- 17Field Gun Operation: Press Square (or X on Xbox) to reload and be ready to move quickly after firing.
- 18Caution: The train can fire indirectly; listen for the whistle of incoming shells.

Lore:
This chapter is named after a line spoken by Prince Feisal (portrayed by Alec Guinness) at the end of the 1962 movie 'Lawrence of Arabia': "There's nothing further here for a warrior. We drive bargains - old men's work. Young men make wars and the virtues of war are the virtues of young men - courage and hope for the future. Then old men make the peace and the vices of peace are the vices of old men - mistrust and caution. It must be so."
