Learn the controls, power-ups, arena layouts, scoring, and winning strategies for the Monkey Fight mode in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. Dominate the competition!

Controls:

  1. Analog Stick: Controls your monkey's direction.
  2. C Stick: No apparent use.
  3. START: Pauses/unpauses the game.
  4. L Button: No apparent use.
  5. R Button: No apparent use.
  6. Y Button: No apparent use.
  7. X Button: No apparent use.
  8. B Button: No apparent use.
  9. A Button: Throws a punch.

Options:

  • Number of Players (1-4).
  • Select your Monkey.
  • Set number of round victories needed to win (1-5).
  • Choose the order of three arena loops.
  • Set Computer opponents to ON/OFF (if 1-3 players).

Power-Ups:

  • "BIG" Glove: Increases glove size, expanding your punching/hitting area for easier opponent hits.
  • "SPINNER": Allows your character to spin their glove in a circle around their ball by holding 'A'. Best used with the "BIG" Glove.
  • "LONG" Arm: Extends your monkey's reach and increases punch power. Best used with the "BIG" Glove. Note: "SPINNER" and "LONG" Arm do not work well together due to the "SPINNER"'s reliance on glove contact and the "LONG" Arm's wider radius leaving you open. The effects of "LONG" Arm and "BIG" Glove are magnified for each collected power-up if you haven't fallen off.

Level Lay-Outs:

  • Mid-Summer Jungle Square: A large, green square with rails on the sides. Requires a few hits to knock players off.
  • Cold Ice Octagon: An icy field with a smaller surface area than Jungle Square. Features eight walls that can help players stay on the platform and a central platform to prevent direct charges.
  • High Flying UFO Circle: The smallest arena with no walls, making it easy to knock opponents off.

Scoring Rules:

  • Knocking a monkey off the platform: 10 points.
  • Knocking off the leader (with a crown icon): 20 points.
  • Suicide dive offs: 5 points for every other player.
  • Power-Ups do not yield points directly but help in gaining points faster.

Player Colours:

  • Player 1: Red
  • Player 2: Blue
  • Player 3: Yellow
  • Player 4: Green

Strategies:

  • Punching rapidly results in less power. Punch once, then charge for a strong punch.
  • Use "SPINNER" sparingly as opponents can slip inside its arc.
  • Target players stuck on the outside for easy points.
  • If stuck on the outside, run away from the mob to create distance and return to safety.
  • Avoid focusing solely on busting power-up boxes, as you may get hit from behind and fall off.
  • Going after the leader can help catch up, but don't focus exclusively on one opponent to avoid being knocked off by others.
