After meeting Commander Calvert in the Command Room and learning about Neuron, you will be introduced to Jin, your training officer.

Explore Police HQ, which is divided into four floors accessible to Neuron members.

Head to the elevators on the northeast corner and select the "R" (roof) level to reach the heliport.

Find Alicia and Max on the right side of the heliport platform.

Return to the elevator and select "B3" to go to the Training Room.

Enter the Training Room and talk to Jin to begin your basic training regimen.

During training, you will receive your Legatus Cradle and IRIS (a device that displays information on your HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap)). Experiment with all available options as there is no grade.

After training, return to the Command Room to meet Olive and receive your orders.

Head to the Heliport and board the nearest chopper to Grand Avenue in Central City due to possible chimeric activity.

Upon arrival, activate your IRIS to view a playback of events, including a bridge collapse and people scattering.

Examine individuals in the yellow "frozen" hologram for keywords.

Examine the bridge and talk to Max, Alicia, and Jin.

Approach a pair of whispering cops on the right, back away, send your Legion (your combat partner) next to them, hold ZL, and press A to hear their conversation and obtain the keyword "dragged through the gate".

Examine the red matter in the middle of the street near Akira. Max will instruct you to clean it up by moving your Legion over it.

After cleaning the Red Matter, a giant handprint will appear, providing the keyword "giant hands".

Talk to Max and answer his questions with "giant hands" and "dragged through the gate".

Go to the giant handprint, summon your Legion, hold ZL, and press A to follow the trail it establishes.

Follow the trail into the underground parking garage and through a partially shuttered door (crouch by clicking the Left Stick to get under it).

You will encounter your first serious chimera fight against Briareos, a power-type chimera.

Activate your IRIS to see Briareos's health bar. Dodge its attacks and strike, or use your Blaster from a distance. Utilize your Legion for combat and consider using the bind ability.

If you take damage, use healing items or your AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) to respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death) if KO'd.

When Briareos's health is halved, corrupted officers will join the fight as Aberrations. Focus on them first.

After defeating Briareos, you and Akira will be directed to a Gate. Wrap your Astral Chain around the floating Gate to destroy it.

Continue following the trail, which may lead to optional Blue Cases.

Follow the trail into passages leading to upper levels. The trail will go into a wall; follow the path, cleaning up Red Matter and collecting supplies.

At the top of a stairwell, assist an officer by wrapping your Astral Chain around a Gate to destroy it.

Continue down the corridor back into an open area where red hands emerge from Gates to grab people. Make a hard left to pursue them.
