Alright, let's talk about the Varangians. These guys are the spearmen you'll run into, and honestly, they're a real pain, especially when you're facing a bunch of them. They've got this dark red armor with a sort of skirt and horned helmets, and they'll come at you with spears or pikes. The game doesn't give them many easy outs, so you'll need to be smart about how you take them down.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Wield: Spears, Pikes
• Weaknesses: Disarms, Execution Streak
• Immunities: Kicks, Counters, Hidden Blade Counters

Strategy:

• When you're up against Varangians, especially in large groups, you've got to be careful. They're pretty much immune to all counters except for Disarms. So, your first move should ideally be a Disarm.
• After that, try to chain together an Execution Streak. This is where things get tricky: normally, if another enemy tries to interrupt your streak, you can counter them if you're quick. But with Varangians, you can't do that. If one of them attacks you in the middle of your streak, there's nothing you can do to stop it. You just have to take the hit.
• Don't bother trying to kick them; it won't work.
• If you're using a sword, your best bet is to dodge their attacks and then strike them repeatedly to get a standard combo kill.
• Your other options include using special attacks if you're wielding a Heavy Weapon or a spear. These can sometimes stagger them or open them up for a follow-up.
• Basically, you need to be patient, focus on disarming them, and be ready to dodge and weave if you can't get a streak going. They're one of the tougher enemy types, so don't get discouraged if it takes a few tries to get the hang of it.
