As you level up, unlock skills to improve fuel efficiency and take on long-distance, hazardous, fragile, or important deliveries.

Purchase new or upgrade existing garages to store more trucks.

Hire AI drivers from recruitment agencies and assign them trucks from dealerships to increase your income.

When choosing a destination depot, opt for the 'desired spot' for more experience points (if you can park successfully) or the 'safe spot' for fewer points but easier parking. You can also skip parking entirely to forfeit experience points.

Tips

The game map is vast; it takes approximately three real-time hours to travel from Bellingham, Washington to Brownsville, Texas.
The map scale was updated from 1:35 to 1:20 in update 1.5, making the game world approximately 1.75 times larger.
California has been reworked to meet current mapping standards, with the rework completed in update 1.53.
American Truck Simulator is expanding to Canada with the British Columbia map expansion.
Unlike Euro Truck Simulator 2, not all cities in American Truck Simulator have garages.
