6.5 Basketball [BBALL]

Basketball has two modes: the 3-Point Contest and the 3-on-3 Game. You'll unlock the 3-on-3 game just by playing the 3-Point Contest once.

3-Point Contest

This is all about scoring as many points as you can before time runs out. Keep an eye out for those multi-coloured balls – they're worth double points!

  • Players: 1-4 (played one at a time, can use one remote)

Stamps to Aim For:

  • Five in a Row: Nail five shots consecutively. Find a good rhythm and keep it going!
  • Bonus Ball Buff: Grab all five of the special multi-coloured bonus balls.
  • Speed Shooter: Score 20 points or more with at least 10 seconds left. No time to waste!
  • You Got Game: Sink all 25 balls. Stay focused from start to finish!
  • Speed Demon: Get all 25 balls in with at least 15 seconds remaining. That's seriously impressive!

Getting Started: Pick the number of players, assign your Miis, and hit Start.

Controls: Press [B] to grab a ball. Hold the remote above your head and flick it forward near the peak of your jump to shoot.

3-on-3 Game

  • Players: 1-2
  • Nunchuk Required: No

Stamps to Aim For:

  • 3-Point Goal: Score from behind the three-point line (the darker court area). This is only in single-player.
  • Slam Dunk Master: Get five slam dunks in a single-player game. Get right under the basket, jump, and slam it home!
  • 3-Point Master: Score five three-pointers in one game. Again, this is only in single-player.
  • Buzzer Beater: Win the game with a last-second shot right before the buzzer. Single-player only!
  • Defeat the Champions: Beat the Wuhu champions! They're faster and better shooters, so hitting three-pointers is key to increasing your lead.

Getting Started: Choose your players, Miis, and hit Start.

Controls: Use [A] or a direction on the D-pad to pass, and [B] to shoot (just like in the 3-point contest). Dribble by flicking the remote up and down. For defense, flick sideways to steal and up to jump.

Pro Tip: This mode can be a bit tricky. You have five seconds to shoot after pressing [B]. If an opponent is blocking, try waiting a second or two before shooting to avoid getting blocked. Dribbling works well early on, but the ball gets stolen more often later, so relying on 3-pointers is often a better strategy against tougher opponents.

6.6 Table Tennis [TTNS]

Table Tennis offers two modes: Match and Return Challenge. Playing a Match will unlock Return Challenge.

Match

The first player to score 6 points wins. Don't forget you can angle your racket to add spin to the ball!

  • Players: 1-2
  • Nunchuk Required: No

Stamps to Aim For:

  • Not the Face!: For some reason, hitting your opponent in the face with the ball gets you a stamp in single-player. (We're sure you'd never do that on purpose, right? 😉)
  • Back From the Brink: Successfully return a ball that hits the edge of the table and bounces unpredictably. This is only in single-player.
  • 30-Stroke Rally: Keep a rally going for 30 or more shots in single-player. It might sound tough, but patience is key!
