Terrain Types: Different terrains offer varying tactical benefits and drawbacks. For instance, forests can provide cover but may impede cavalry movement, while open plains allow for rapid advances but offer little protection.

Environmental Effects: Factors such as weather, time of day, and planetary conditions can alter visibility, unit effectiveness, and movement speed. For example, sandstorms might reduce ranged accuracy, while volcanic activity could create hazardous zones on the battlefield.

Strategic Deployment: Position your units to take advantage of terrain features. Utilize high ground for ranged superiority, choke points to funnel enemies, and cover to protect vulnerable units.

Adapting to Conditions: Be prepared to adapt your strategy based on environmental effects. If visibility is low, rely more on close-combat units or artillery. If movement is hindered, focus on defensive positions and attrition.

Dynamic Destruction: Battlefield destruction, such as collapsing structures or artillery impacts, can create new cover or obstacles, dynamically changing the tactical landscape mid-battle.
