Follow this guide for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent's first mission in Iceland, from the icy water entry to preventing a missile launch. Learn stealth tactics and objective completion.
Walkthrough
- 1You begin by parachuting into Iceland. Your first task is to jump from the plane into the icy water. Swim towards the red light in the distance until you find a tunnel.
- 2Enter the tunnel and then swim up through the hole in the ice using the Y button. You'll surface near a guard. Take him out stealthily.
- 3Exit the water and approach the door with a light above it, leading to a guardhouse. Enter quietly; there's a sleeping guard inside. Access his computer and then disable the electric fence by cutting the wires below the power box in the left corner of the room.
- 4Exit the guardhouse and head towards your partner. You'll need to hoist him over the fence. Sam can then climb over himself.
- 5Once over the fence, move left and climb the ladder to reach your partner's position. Look for a cable above you. Jump to grab it and slide into the plant. This completes the secondary objective of infiltrating the plant without raising an alert.
- 6There's a guard below your platform. Wait for him to move out of sight to the right, then drop down to where he was standing. You'll see a set of stairs to your right that you can reach easily without being detected.
- 7Proceed down the stairs. When you spot a bottle, stop and be aware of a patrolling guard. Use an EMP to disable the light above him. While the guard is disoriented, jump over the railing to the right and land on the ground below.
- 8Move into the large metal crate. You can pick up a wall mine here if you chose to. Walk through the crate and grab the stationary guard at the other end. He'll provide an access code, just like the others in this area.
- 9You'll see a well-lit gate ahead with "Danger" and "Do Not Enter" signs. You have three options to get past it: Hack the control panel directly on the gate, move left and cut the wire on the power box below the wall light to disable the electric fence, or enter a nearby guard room and hack a computer to open the gate.
- 10Once you're past the gate, avoid the two guards and the moving spotlight to your left. Head towards the far wall and climb the ladder to reach a platform with a water tank.
- 11Take the stairs leading up from the well-lit area. Be cautious, as a guard patrols these stairs. Your partner, John, will run inside the plant, but don't worry. Move past the stairs and wait for the guard to come down. Take him out, then proceed up the stairs.
- 12At the top of the stairs, you'll find the fan that was stopped, allowing entry into the plant.
- 13Upon entering, you'll see your partner has been shot. You can't help him, so continue left until you reach a yellow rail. Climb up and proceed down the ramp. A timer will appear, and you'll receive a new mission: Prevent Missile Launch.
- 14Head down the stairs. When you reach the next platform, stop and watch for a guard coming up the stairs. Go behind him down the stairs he just climbed.
- 15Kill the light and move left towards the missile. Turn the manual release located on the missile. Sneak past the guard patrolling the stairs (killing the light will confuse him) and head all the way to the top.
- 16Remember the stairs you passed at the beginning of the ramp? Go down them and activate the walkway. At the end of the ramp is a metal pipe you can climb. Move over the missile using this pipe.
- 17Once above the missile, use the winch to lower yourself to the platform below. Hack into the computer to prevent the missile launch.
- 18Climb the ladder to the right of the missile and turn left at the top. You should see a rope above the missile that will allow you to climb to the roof.
Tips
- Completing the secondary objective of infiltrating the plant without alert unlocks the EMP Grenade and the Explosive Sticky Camera-Attachment.
- When dealing with the guard near the stairs after passing the gate, killing the light will disorient him, making it easier to take him down stealthily.
- The manual release on the missile is crucial before attempting to hack the computer.
