Boss Battle: Kabuki Max

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Kabuki Max rides a giant frog.
• The frog is the primary target.
• Kabuki Max himself doesn't cause contact damage after landing.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Frog Landing Attack

   You're on narrow pillars. Kabuki Max will land on his giant frog. Time your jump to land on the frog's head right as Kabuki Max lands. He won't hurt you on contact after landing, so you can stay put.

2. Phase 2: Fan Attack

   If you take too long to attack, Kabuki Max will start firing fans. It's easier to dodge these if you're two platforms away, but tricky if you're only one platform away.

3. Phase 3: Tongue Bounce

   Shortly after the fans, the frog will stretch out its tongue. You can hop onto the tongue and run along it to bounce off Kabuki Max at the end, dealing damage.

4. Mini-Game: Tug of War

   After the main fight, you'll face Arnold in a Tug of War mini-game. When Arnold is pulling, press Down to resist. When he tires out (panting and sweating), hold Left and repeatedly tap A and B to increase your Power and pull him back. As soon as he recovers, press Down again and repeat the process. Winning this mini-game grants you a free Continue.

Strategy:

• Focus on timing your jumps to land on the frog when Kabuki Max arrives.
• Be ready to dodge the fan projectiles, keeping your distance if possible.
• Use the frog's tongue as a platform to launch yourself at Kabuki Max.
• In the Tug of War, manage your button presses carefully: Down to resist, then Left + A/B spam to attack, then back to Down.
