Boss Battle: Cowboy Max

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Boss: Cowboy Max
• Weakness: Jumping on his head

Phases:

1. Max throws his hat.
2. Max charges across the screen.
3. Repeat.

Strategy:

• When Max first appears at the top, he'll throw his cowboy hat across the screen. It'll then fly back left at the bottom. You'll need to jump over it, or even land on it, to avoid taking damage.
• Shortly after the hat returns, Max himself will rush towards you on the lower half of the screen. This is your chance to attack! Jump onto him to deal damage.
• After you hit him, he'll retreat to the top of the screen and repeat the whole sequence. Keep this pattern up to defeat him.
• Important: Always make sure you're standing on stable ground. If you accidentally step on spikes, you'll take damage, so watch your footing!

Mini-Game:

Between stages, you might get a chance to play a basketball mini-game for a free Continue. To play, just move left and right constantly. Wait for your Power bar to fill up completely, then hit [A] or [B] right as it's full (before it resets) to make a dunk shot. If you manage to score 3 goals in under 30 seconds, you'll earn a free Continue. It's a nice little bonus if you can pull it off!
