The Importance of Scavenging

Always be on the lookout for supplies. Joel's world is one of scarcity, and you'll rarely find an abundance of any single item. Thoroughly explore every room, corner, and container. Use your "Listen Mode" (R1) not just for enemy detection, but also to highlight interactable items, making them easier to spot in dimly lit environments.

• Common Scavenging Locations:
  • Abandoned Buildings: Check drawers, cabinets, shelves, and under beds. Kitchens and bathrooms are often good sources.
  • Vehicles: The trunks and glove compartments of abandoned cars can hold valuable components.
  • Hidden Corners: Don't rush through areas. Many crucial items are tucked away in less obvious spots, behind debris or in side rooms.
  • Enemy Drops: Defeated enemies, especially human combatants, sometimes drop ammunition or crafting components.
