Conquer Howler Gorge on Ando Prime in Star Wars: Galactic Racer! Learn the best paths, shortcuts, and how to handle tricky turns and icy sections to beat Ratts Tyrell.
Alright, so you've been adding to your roster of racers, and Ratts Tyrell is a solid pick, especially for a track like Howler Gorge on Ando Prime. This track can be a bit tricky, especially with its mix of caves and snowy roads, but stick with me and we'll get you through it. The computer favorite here is Ratts himself, and it's set to Medium difficulty, so it's a good place to practice.
You'll start off on a pretty straightforward path, but don't get too comfortable. You'll be heading into caves pretty early on. Just cruise through them for now, as there aren't too many obstacles right at the start. Keep an eye out for a cave that splits into two paths – you'll want to take the right one here for the quickest route. This will lead you out onto a snowy road. Follow that under a big rock and into another cave.
This next cave is where things get a little more hazardous. There are icicles hanging from the ceiling, and if you hit one of the larger ones, it'll blow you up. So, be careful as you navigate through. Once you exit this cave, you'll be on another snow road that leads into yet another cave. This one is super important because it holds a shortcut that the AI racers completely miss!
When you see this cave split into two paths, again, take the path on the right. This shortcut is a bridge that cuts straight through the cave, saving you a significant amount of time. After you pop out of this shortcut, get ready for some of the more challenging parts of the track. There are some pretty annoying turns coming up in the caves and on the snowy paths. This is where your turning and sliding skills really need to shine. If you mess up these turns too much and crash, your rivals will definitely catch up.
After navigating those tricky turns, you'll find yourself heading up a snowy slope. At the top, there's a gigantic drop! Don't panic – as soon as your pod jumps off the edge, you'll want to glide for as long as possible to cover maximum distance. When you get near the bottom of this slope, there's a smaller jump. Use your 'tilt up' control to get the most airtime out of it. This jump will land you on an ice lake.
As soon as you touch down on the ice, hold down one of your 'roll' buttons and point yourself towards the ramp on the other side of the lake. Remember, rolling to one side makes steering on ice much easier. Hit that ramp, and you'll find yourself on an icy ridge. As you continue forward, quickly glance to your left or right. You'll see a small path going upwards. Instead of heading straight into the structure in front of you, veer onto this small path. It'll take you on top of the building, which is another great time-saver. Glide off the roof, land, and keep moving.
You'll soon enter an area that's a mix of a structure and a cave. It's got a few turns, but if you've gotten the hang of the earlier ones, these should be a breeze. After this, it's just a matter of staying on the snowy road and dodging any rocks that might be in your way. You've probably dodged meteors before, so these rocks shouldn't give you too much trouble. Make your way past them, and you'll have completed the lap!
