Mission: Track Down Venom

Alright, this mission, "Track Down Venom," is a bit of a long one, and it can get pretty tough if you haven't been investing in your upgrades. First things first, head to the yellow marker on your map. That's where you'll find the source of all this civilian craziness – Venom himself.

When you get there, Venom's going to sic a group of infected folks on you. Take 'em down to keep things moving. From this point on, it's crucial that you stick with the Black Suit for this mission. Trust me, the tendril grabs are way more effective against Venom than your standard web strikes. They let you close the distance, deal damage, and keep up with him all at once.

Venom will start making a run for it through the streets, infecting people as he goes. You can't completely stop him from infecting everyone, but you can definitely help by using those tendril strikes to keep pace. When you're right up on him, just keep hitting him with combos to prevent him from infecting anyone else. You'll notice symbiotes start to show up, too. Even if you're lightning fast, they always seem to appear. For the most part, just ignore them and keep your focus locked on Venom. Eventually, you'll find yourself in an alleyway where Venom and a Pod are waiting.

Your main objective here is to destroy the Pod – that's the black, tentacled thing in the middle of the area. Don't bother with web strikes or tendril strikes on the Pod, because it almost always counters by slamming you into the ground. Instead, get in close and use your regular combos; it should go down pretty quickly. Once the Pod is toast, Venom will hit the streets again, and you'll need to chase him down once more. This part is significantly longer than the first chase, so don't feel bad about temporarily retreating to regain some health if you need to.

Venom will eventually lead you to another alleyway, but this time, there are two Pods. He'll be much more aggressive in fighting you now, and you'll need to defeat him along with the Pods. Here's the catch: Venom won't take any damage until both Pods are destroyed, so make them your top priority. When you're fighting Venom, remember to stay in the Black Suit and use those tendril strikes like before. Approach him, land a combo, and then retreat. It's really important to play defensively here because Venom's combos hit like a truck and can be really hard to dodge. Once you've taken down Venom and both Pods, the mission will be complete.
