The CURIE (Deck 1)

Guide Simon through the CURIE wreck in SOMA. Learn how to sneak past the Glitching Brute and find the Emergency Shuttle to Theta.

Alright, you've found the wreck of the CURIE, a massive ship sunk way down on the ocean floor. The plan is to find an Emergency Vessel here and make your way to Theta. Let's get started.

First things first, head to your left. Take a peek out the window – you'll see the ladder leading to the Emergency Shuttle. There's a sign on the ship that reads "The MS CURIE Heavy Duty Semi-Submersible Freight Carrier." Keep moving forward through a couple of doors.

You'll come to a hallway with one door open and one closed. Head into the room with the open door. Uh oh, inside, you'll find the BRUTE. As it spots you, you'll start to GLITCH. This thing is dangerous, so your best bet is to crouch down and try to sneak past its room. Don't make eye contact for too long, don't move too quickly, and definitely don't get too close.

The BRUTE is pretty sensitive to your actions. If you stare at it for too long, make sudden movements like running away, or get too close, it'll attack. The amount of GLITCHING you experience is a good indicator of how close it is. If it does get too close, don't panic. Just backtrack, duck into another hallway or room, and wait until you hear it teleport away – you'll hear a distinct 'bang' sound.

Okay, stay crouched and make your way to the T-intersection. Your objective is to get through the doorway marked with a red light. This will lead you to the right, into Hallway F1.3. Follow that straight ahead until you reach Hallway F-1.2. Take another right turn, and then go through the open doorway into Hallway F-1.1. You should see a faint greenish light up ahead. As you get closer to the ladder, the BRUTE will teleport in nearby. Be ready!

Now, find the wheel and turn it to lower the ladder. Once it's down, climb up. You're almost there!
