While Sifu doesn't have a traditional "XP" system in the vein of RPGs, you are constantly accumulating a score and unlocking new skills that effectively function as a form of progression. Understanding how to maximize your score and efficiently acquire new abilities is key to overcoming the game's escalating challenges.

Earning Score

Your score is primarily generated through successful combat encounters. The more stylish and efficient your takedowns, the higher your score will be. This includes:

• Perfect Parries: Successfully parrying an attack at the last moment grants a significant score bonus.
• Combos: Stringing together multiple attacks without interruption builds a combo multiplier, dramatically increasing your score.
• Takedowns: Executing finishers on downed enemies also contributes to your score.
• Environmental Kills: Utilizing the environment to dispatch enemies, such as throwing them off ledges or into hazards, yields substantial points.
• Avoiding Damage: Taking less damage throughout a level naturally leads to a higher score, as it sifies a cleaner, more controlled fight.

Unlocking Skills

New skills are purchased using "XP" earned from combat. You can access the skill tree at any time outside of combat, typically at the beginning of a level or after a significant checkpoint. Prioritizing which skills to unlock early can drastically alter your combat effectiveness. Consider skills that:

• Enhance your core offense: Moves like the Chasing Striking Fist or the Iron Palm Strike offer new offensive options.

The Museum and the Clubhouse are often good early-game areas for practicing and accumulating score due to their manageable enemy counts and opportunities for environmental kills.
