The environments in Sifu are not just backdrops; they are active participants in the combat. Understanding and exploiting the various environmental hazards and interactive elements can significantly simplify encounters, conserve your health, and even lead to stylish takedowns.

Hazardous Elements

Many areas are littered with dangers that can be turned against your enemies:

• Ledges and Drop-offs: Throwing enemies off balconies, stairs, or any significant drop is a quick and effective way to eliminate them. Be careful not to fall yourself!
• Flammable Objects: Barrels, gas canisters, and other flammable items can be ited with certain attacks or by throwing enemies into them, creating area-of-effect damage.
• Sharp Objects: Broken glass, sharp machinery, or exposed wires can be used to inflict extra damage when enemies are thrown into them.
• Water Hazards: In areas with water, pushing enemies into it can stun them or even lead to an instant takedown if the water is deep enough.
• Moving Objects: In some levels, like the Nightclub, you might encounter moving machinery or obstacles that can be used to your advantage.

Interactive Objects

Beyond direct hazards, many objects can be used for tactical advantage:

• Tables and Chairs: These can be used as makeshift shields or thrown at enemies to stagger them.
• Weapons: While not strictly environmental, picking up dropped weapons (like pipes, brooms, or knives) from enemies or the environment is crucial. They deal more damage and can interrupt enemy attacks.
• Doors and Walls: Slamming enemies into doors or walls can stun them, creating openings for follow-up attacks.

Tactical Awareness

Developing environmental awareness is a skill in itself. As you enter a new area:

• Scan the Environment: Before engaging, take a moment to identify potential hazards and interactive objects.
• Enemy Placement: Note where enemies are positioned relative to these hazards.
• Prioritize Targets: If an enemy is near a dangerous hazard, consider making them your priority target for an environmental takedown.
• Use as Cover: Sometimes, ducking behind cover or using objects to break line of sight can help you regroup or bait enemies into a more favorable position.

Level-Specific Exploitation

Each level in Sifu has unique environmental opportunities. For instance, the Museum has numerous display cases that can be shattered, and the Research Lab features volatile chemicals. Learning these specific interactions will make each playthrough more efficient and rewarding.
