Alright, let's talk about how Shadow ended up in his current, well, shadowy state in Shadow Fight 2. It all boils down to his own arrogance, believe it or not. He was a legendary warrior, super skilled, but got a bit too big for his boots. He went looking for a challenge and stumbled upon the Gates of Shadows. Big mistake. He decided to open them, and boom – demons poured out. They pretty much tore him apart, taking his physical body and soul, leaving him as a mere silhouette. So now, his main gig is to hunt down these demons, grab their 'demon seals', and re-seal those Gates. It's his way of cleaning up the mess he made. Don't worry though, he's not stuck like this forever. After he defeats the demons and closes the Gates, he actually goes into them, ending up in the Shadow World. Later on, after rescuing May and taking down Titan, the Gates are destroyed. You'll see a mysterious shadow trailing Shadow and May from the wreckage, hinting at what's to come. When you start the game, you'll actually hear Shadow himself explain this. He talks about being an invincible warrior, discovering the Gates, breaking the elders' laws, and then the demons rushing him, tearing his flesh, and draining his soul. It's a pretty dramatic intro to why you're playing as him and what his mission is.
