The wanted system in Rustler is a core mechanic. Understanding how to manage and escape the law is vital for survival and mission success.

How Wanted Levels Work:

• Stars: 1-5 stars indicate the severity of your wanted level. More stars mean more numerous and aggressive guards, including archers and knights.
• Red Zone: When wanted, a red circle appears on your mini-map. You must escape this zone and remain outside of it for a short period for your wanted level to dissipate.
• Guard Sightlines: Guards have a cone of vision. Avoid their sightlines to prevent increasing your wanted level or being spotted during an escape.

Tips for Escaping:

• 'Pimp-a-Horse' Stables: The most reliable way to instantly remove your wanted level. Mark one on your map and head there immediately if you're in trouble.
• Horse Speed: A fully upgraded horse is your best friend for outrunning guards.
• Off-Roading: Guards often struggle to follow you through dense forests, over hills, or across rivers. Use the terrain to your advantage.
• Disguises: Some quests or specific items might offer temporary disguises that reduce your wanted level or allow you to blend in.
• Hiding Spots: Look for haystacks, outhouses, or other interactive objects that allow you to hide from pursuing guards.
• Bribes: Some NPCs or specific locations might offer the option to bribe guards to look the other way, reducing your wanted level.

Always have an escape route in mind, especially before committing a major crime. A high wanted level can quickly spiral out of control.
