Dr. Schrader

Professor Layton and Luke receive a letter from Dr. Andrew Schrader, who has obtained the Elysian Box and intends to open it. Concerned, Layton decides to visit him.

Layton needs to find his keys. Tap on items to search; the keys are in the middle desk drawer.

A tutorial on movement appears. Tap the shoe icon and then an arrow to move. Move right twice.

Puzzle #001: Dr. Schrader's Map - Place five map pieces onto a grid so all roads connect. The piece already on the map is the one that does not belong. The correct order for the bottom pieces is: leftmost, bottom, top, right, middle.

Layton and Luke arrive at Dr. Schrader's apartment complex.

Puzzle #002: The Doctor's Home - Identify Dr. Schrader's apartment. Clues: a flag hangs over it, it faces the rising sun, and a nearby flat plays music. The apartment with the flag above it, in the upper-left corner, is Dr. Schrader's.

Talk to the man at the apartment. Tap the mailbox for a hint coin. Find more hint coins at the base of the street lamp and above the door.

Enter the apartment. The door is locked.

Puzzle #003: The Right Key - Choose the correct key to open the door from three options. The key on the bottom is correct; it needs to be rotated so its circular end fits the keyhole.

Inside, they find Dr. Schrader dead and a mysterious train ticket.

Inspector Chelmey and his assistant Barton arrive. Chelmey suspects a heart attack due to the locked door.

Layton points out a suspicious escape route.

Puzzle #004: A Secure Room - Identify the suspicious escape route. Examine the closed window; the ripped curtain indicates the escape route.

Looking out the window, they see evidence of an escape using the curtain.

Layton finds a torn photograph in Dr. Schrader's hand. Chelmey confiscates the pieces and escorts them out.

Layton is puzzled by the absence of the Elysian Box and the train ticket. They decide to take the train to investigate further.
