Walkthrough
- 1Once Wheatley has shown up, aim your portal gun at the wall behind him and place a portal.
- 2Drop into the orange portal to enter the next part of the room.
- 3Enter the newly opened passageway after picking Wheatley up and follow the linear path until you enter two double doors and the screen fades.
- 4Once Wheatley is set into the device, the lift will start raising.
- 5After the cut-scene and the ‘You Monster’ achievement/trophy pops up, walk across the metal girders.
- 6You will find the proper double-portal gun on the ground.
- 7Turn to your right and plant one portal, then look back to your left and up into the distance, placing your exit portal on the roof.
- 8Step through the portal.
- 9After landing, look to your right and fire a portal at any part of the wall past the metal barricade.
- 10Set the entrance portal right in front of you.
- 11As you make your way around the corner of the corridor, GLaDOS will open up a slanted wall.
- 12Fire a portal up here and then an entrance portal on any nearby wall.
- 13Step through and then drop off the platform you’re on to the ground down to your left.
- 14Around the next corner, set a portal on the platform up to your right and the second one on the wall to your left.
- 15Fire the exit portal through the broken bit of glass into the room directly opposite.
- 16Hang a left as you exit the portal and go around the corner.
- 17Around the next right-hand corner are the steps leading to the lift, signalling the end of Chapter 1.
Tips
- There’s no real way to get lost in the area after the double doors, as there’s only one way to go and no puzzles to solve.
