This guide details the moves and abilities of Umbreon in Pokemon Unite.

Eeveelution Teamwork — When on a team with four other Eeveelutions, Umbreon gains an additional 1% max bonus HP. This passive bonus is small and unlikely to significantly impact gameplay.

Passive: Anticipation / Inner Focus

Eevee's passive, Anticipation, negates stuns, shoves, or throws, putting the ability on cooldown. This cooldown resets upon respawning. Umbreon's passive, Inner Focus, provides the same CC negation and additionally grants Unstoppable, increased Defense, and Special Defense for a short duration. This passive also refreshes on respawn.

Inner Focus protects Umbreon from most crowd control (CC) effects, such as stuns and shoves. However, it does not block effects like Slow, Blind, Move Lock, Paralysis, Sleep, Freeze, Immobilize, Fear, Bound, or Charm. Effects that bypass Unstoppable, like Charizard's Seismic Slam or Slowbro's Slow Beam, are also not blocked. Enemy players may attempt to trigger your passive early before engaging. Inner Focus can also protect scoring attempts from being interrupted by non-damaging CC effects.

Basic Attack

Every third basic attack becomes a boosted attack, dealing more damage and healing Umbreon for a portion of its missing HP. The heal scales with damage taken and increased max HP. It is advisable to prepare a boosted attack by attacking the air before combat. Umbreon's boosted attack can hit multiple targets in a small cone in front of it.

Swift (Level 4)

Swift is a sure-hit ranged attack that fires one large projectile followed by three smaller ones. The larger projectile deals more damage. The target is marked, granting Eevee a small movement speed buff when near them. Dealing damage to a marked target makes Eevee's next basic attack a boosted one. Swift has low damage on its own but enables more frequent boosted attacks. It can help Eevee bully weaker laners or enemies distracted by wild Pokemon, but Umbreon is still vulnerable in prolonged fights. Swift can also speed up farming of wild Pokemon.

At level four, Swift upgrades into either Mean Look or Foul Play.

Mean Look (Level 4 Upgrade)

Mean Look is a sure-hit move that marks an enemy, ignoring Hindrance Resistance and Unstoppable. The marked enemy is slowed and can remove the mark with a cleanse. An inescapable zone forms around the marked enemy, during which Umbreon's basic attacks become boosted and deal increased damage.
